Ibanez TBX150H Tone Blaster Guitar Amplifier Head (150 Watts) Reviews

"Good deal."
Feature:
Has two channels and all the stuff two channels should have. Reverb is really, really weak.

Quality:
Made very well as far as I can tell. The covering on it is thin. It will scratch, and in a while will probably look like hell. Its guts are well protected though which is what matters.

Value:
Definately worth the price. I think you are getting a much better deal here than with the competitors in this category.

Desirability:
Pretty sexy with the Ibanez logo on it (if youa re into Ibanez that is). Like I sad though, I think it is going to scratch pretty easily.

Sound:
Sounds pretty darn good. The distortion on the hot channel is excellent. If you are playing rock or metal you don't need any additional distortion. However, if you want that scooped out thrash sound this won't do it on its own. Get a pedal.

Ease of Use:
Easy. All the nobs are the the standard standard stuff that everyone should know what to do with.

Overall:
I plan to be using this for a long, long time. Does exactly what I need for it to do.

"I got more then i paid for :)"
Feature:
I think its still a 10 but it kinda sucks when you buy something and they are like look how rad it is with the foot switch which is separate. But the useful features are that there is no digital memory so when you switch channels the head is where ever you adjust it to. each channels has its own volume and gain and there is a Hue knob which is the best thing cause after you get your sound all dialed in you adjust this little knobby and get your perfect tone. So the only missing feature is a foot switch that comes with it!

Quality:
id say 8 cause it doesn't seem like it has any defects but i haven't got a chance to to really take it to many shows and set it up and break it down load and unload out of vehicles and on and off stages. But i intend to play shows with it. Seems like its lasting depends on how i treat it. which is like a fragile child cause i don't want to have to buy another head for quite some time. The finish is cool its like a 70's suit kinda pattern of dashes vertical and horizontal. you would have to see a good 70s suit or couch or curtains then look at the amp then you would see what I'm talking about

Value:
Value was good for the price very worth it. good brand not as expensive as usual amps.

Desirability:
Big Ibanez logo in white does it get any sexier then that? well not for less then 300 bucks sorry marshall krank and mesa boggie. It is not only practical but there is not one feature i will not have a use for. and what i didn't notice when i ordered was the little compartment in the back. i guess its big enough to hold the foot switch but i use it to hold the power cable and the patch cable that connects it to the cab and the instruction manual lives in there also. Black is my favorite color and so this works for that but most guitar equipment is black.

Sound:
I characterize the sound as loud real real loud. the sound quality is awesome even when i turn down to play alone or with people who only have small practice amps i still have the clarity of my settings. So i don't have to max the volume to overdrive the amp. I wanted a dirty sound as well as a sweet clean and i think this head provides everything I was looking for. I do use boss pedals and even without them i can achieve "my sound" I can get my sound on the clean channel with our without built in Ibanez overdrive as well as on the gain channel with or without that channels overdrive. I really like that kinda flexibility. I use the boss mt2 metal zone but if i didn't have the power adapter or 9v battery i could still plug the head in and play a show no problem.

Ease of Use:
The manual is well written a few fun little drawings that show you all the things that will make it not work so you can keep it working for as long as possible. and a clear indication of what each knobby is. you can plug everything in without instructions and use the booklet they send and just set it up an turn each knobby and you can hear what it does very simple very user friendly. i was stepping up from a little two speaker comb amp at a half stack set up and this made the transition painless.

Support:
Haven't had to deal with Ibanez support cause they make some great stuff like this head and the guitar i play GIO gax70. and Zzounds support is always good any issue gets dealt with quick cause every operator doesn't have to find their boss to fix a problems they just say well ship it our or other great words to hear when you need working gear and fast.

Overall:
I have a Marshal 1960A lead cab so i wanted the jcm900 head that goes with it. But as long as they stay as pricey as they are I'm sticking with the solid state tone blaster cause it does exactly what it says it does and exactly what i want it too. And even if the finish wore out or any other jazz like that I play it till it wouldn't make sound anymore. Ive tried other amp heads that have more features and built in tuners and more channels but it is all extra money and you end up not using half the flashy stuff cause it is too complicated or not effective to change all the knobbys when you play live. So every bit of what you pay for you can use and that's what i respect about this head. If somebody stole this id cry for at least 3 days cause it works so well. and then i would definitely buy another one just like it. If i lost it? wait who loses the head of their amp?
