The asthetic of this Ibanez SRX is as smooth as the tones you get out of it. Powered in part by full-range passive pickups with exposed pole pieces, you get a mammoth sound that will rumble your audience where they stand. Providing the Meaty, punch-in-the-face tone that metal bassists love, the SRX690EX is constructed with a mahogany Soundgear body design, quilt maple top and an SRX4 neck with thru-neck design that provides both ultimate sustain and smooth playing you'll find on most basses.

"C.4 Plastique = BLOWN Away!!!"

Sound: This is the ULTIMATE bass! This baby has it all, the looks, the feel, but best of all?...it's got the SOUND! It's got the benefit of being able to "fit" into any sized hole...whether it's metal, jazz, blues, rock, country, and even some ethnic styles! I've used this through a solid state amp and it shakes the Earth! When I used it through my hybrid tube-solid state amp, it just OOZES that classic bass tone, round, thick, warm, fuzzy, solid! And when I turn up the heat with rock / alternative / metal...this bad boy kicks a**! You can't find a BETTER bas for THIS PRICE ANYWHERE!!! Feature: The neck on this bass is BUTTER! You might forget you're actually playing a bass and try to bend some notes up!..LoL! It's THAT smooth! And the frets were excellent. Ease of Use: I used this bass with NO effects! And I nailed the sound I was after every time! All I did was dial in a "starter" tone, and worked it until it was perfect! I've NEVER been able to do that with a bass guitar...EVER!!! Quality: I mean.....HELLO!!?....It's IBANEZ! 'nuff sed!! Value: This one's getting BURIED with me! I'm TAKING this into the After-Life!! Manufacturer Support: Since I've never had to call them I'm giving them a 10.....only because their company made such a great instrument that they're not needed!!! The Wow Factor: This bass IS sexy, the smooth yet wavy lines of the quilted maple top, the charcoal transparent finish, the smooth and flawless necks & frets, and finally the humbuckers that give you everything from melloe and mild to ferocious & wild! Overall: Like I said before...me and "Ashe" are going into the Other World together!!

"Great Bass! Awesome Sound! Play this Bass!"

Sound: I play country, southern rock, & blues all for the same band and I have found that playing this bass straight into the amp (Ampeg SVT3-PRO) delivers beautiful sound for each style. Feature: Absolutely gorgeous! Ease of Use: I love playing this bass. I've played Peavy Fury (way back in the day)and a couple of pawn shop special basses, as well as the SR200 and hands down this bass blows them all away. Quality: Like I said before, absolutely gorgeous! Well made. Stays in tune. You can't ask for much more. Especially at the price! Value: Great Value! The Wow Factor: Beautiful Bass! Front, back, fretboard, head stock! Overall: This is going to be my performance and recording bass for quite a while! I have fallen in love with Ibanez and this bass solidifies that feeling. It's going to take a hell of a deal and a great amount of proof to get me away from Ibanez.
