More and more players are passing up the lifeless looks and tired tones of "beginner basses" and going to GSR Soundgear basses -- which is why GSR Soundgears are now the most popular basses in their price range in the world. With GSR Soundgears, you get the looks, tone and comfort -- and the same warranty, rigorous set-up and inspection -- of Ibanez's most expensive basses. 2003 GSR models come equipped with the pro B10 bridge for even better tone and stability. Description
Docs
Ibanez first introduced the Soundgear bass in 1987. That same bass continues to be one of the world's most played basses. Why Because it is not the same bass. Certainly it's still the sleekest and sexiest. And with all SR models featuring active electronics, it's still the most tonally versatile. It still has the fastest neck. But they've continued to improve and update the Soundgear line.

When the Soundgear first came out, a highly compressed sound was popular. Now players demand a heavier sound with a more human touch. To accommodate these changes, they changed the Soundgear. And now the range of Soundgears is staggering - everything from the elite instruments you can see in the Prestige section to the new amazingly low priced GSR models.

Ibanez SR300DX Soundgear Electric Bass Reviews

"AMAZING BASS"
Feature:
It's a no-frills bass, but the output sound is amazing. It has dual pickups, balancer, tone control, and volume control, that's it. That's all I need.

Quality:
This is a Japanese-made bass. Again, it is around 15 years of age. It looks and works like new.

Value:
Original MSRP is around 550 CAD. That's nothing for a product of this quality!

Desirability:
It is red color. I think that red is the best color for a bass. This is a classic Ibanez Soundgear, not the new childish Soundgear they make now. Looks and feels sweet!

Sound:
I was very much broke, but wanted to buy a bass. So I ended up buying a second-hand older model Ibanez SR600. And guess what? Under no circumstances will I ever change it to anything! It is amazing! Great sound, classic Soundgear appearance (it was manufactured between 1989 and 1994). New Soundgears tend to have great sound as well, but this particular one simply kicks ass!

Ease of Use:
Handles amazingly! Thin neck, well balanced bass. Tried a Fender Jazz Bass - it's just terrible compared to this one.

Support:
Hard to find information on this model on the official site, but who cares? As long as the product itself is great.

Overall:
I'll play this baby 'til my heart stands still.

"as good as it gets."
Feature:
i can't get over the light weight, thin neck, and all around comfort/handling with this bass.

Quality:
it may not be high end or have a big name brand but for its price .... it doesn't get any better

Value:
its worth it so buy it.

Desirability:
i own a black one and i love the color and shape ... just play one, look at one, or hold one and you'll love it to.

Sound:
sound is phenomenal, i couldn't be happier with my choice in buying the insturument. The sond is perfectly distorted, no need for a pedal, and the bass/ treble is about as good as it gets. it beats out my erny ball musicman buy alot.

Ease of Use:
the design and craft in this bass make it easy to use for beginners and great to play for pros.

Support:
no need for support yet.

Overall:
i will always keep this guitar and prefer to play on this one over others, but i try new things so i'm bound to get other bass's as well.
