What's special about this item?

Feature: What it does:
Ash/Walnut Top/Mahogany Body Firm and well-balanced tone; rich mids
Nordstrand Big Single 6 pickups Large-format single-coil design for huge tone
Jumbo frets Makes bending strings easier
Mono-Rail V bridge Allows strings to vibrate fully; great stability

Professional players and gear reviewers alike have been singing the praises of the SR Premium series since its introduction. Crafted by the Ibanez Premium luthiers, the SR1305 shares many of the high-end appointments of the much-respected Prestige line. This extraordinary attention to detail manifests itself in features like super-smooth hand-crimped frets, and the Ibanez Mono-Rail bridge-- an ingeniously designed unit that kills off unwanted sympathetic vibrations while isolating and optimizing favorable string harmonics.

The SR1305's Mahogany body combined with an elegant Ash and Walnut top creates a solid, well-balanced tone. The 5-piece Atlas 5 neck consists of alternating layers of Panga Panga and Purpleheart, providing a striking visual detail, not to mention neck stability for years to come.

In spite of this impressive hit list of exotic materials, this Premium bass stays true to the original SR concept- being surprisingly light in weight--a noticeable contrast to the instrument's thick sonic character. That big, bold, tonal personality is due largely to a pair of Nordstrand Big Single pickups--the kind well acquainted with boutique instruments. No matter what musical texture is desired, the Ibanez Custom 3-Band EQ, with EQ bypass and mid-frequency switch, will get there fast.

Overall, this bass is absolutely amazing! I had not been impressed with Ibanez products in the past. But when I picked this guitar up, I knew that they had made some serious improvements to their line! I am thoroughly impressed with the premium bass line and would highly recommend it to any bassist: beginner, seasoned, or anywhere in between.

Sound
This bass is quite versatile to any style you wish to play. Very responsive out of the box without much adjustment. Sounds amazing in passive mode. Then when you flip the switch to active...hang on to your hats, ladies and gentlemen; this thing comes ALIVE!! Incredible sound that is quite customize able to your liking and music style!

Features
The most useful features of this instrument are the separated bridges for each string. It gives each string a much more distinct tone quality. The active pickups and EQ are simply quite amazing!

Ease of Use
Play-ability is simply easy and amazing.

Quality
I had not been a fan of Ibanez in the past, but I am now! They have truly impressed me with the quality of this premium line of basses. I will be purchasing more of this line in the future. Not only is the sound and woods used to make the instrument great, but the looks of these instruments are what you would expect to find in a very high-dollar bass. They are extremely aesthetically pleasing.

I would say that this this product is worth the money considering the sound it produces as compared to some of the higher-dollar basses on the market that do not look as pleasing to the eye.
