I just bought this guitar and received it a few days ago. I have only owned a couple of Ibanez guitars in my entire 40 plus years of playing, and this is my first one that is geared more for metal. I am a huge fan of Joe Satriani and bought this guitar mainly to compose my own songs similar to his "Flying in a blue dream". I bought the "Dark Space Burst" with the Edge Zero trem system. Out of the box I was completely satisfied with the overall look and build of the guitar. It came with a set of 9's for strings and I play much heavier strings so a change out was made right away. Not being familiar with the Edge Zero trem system I pulled up some vids on YouTube and studied them carefully. I decided to go with a set of Kerly Kues 10-46 guage strings and began the swap out. It took probably 30 minutes to swap out the strings and re-set the trem for the heavier guage strings. Viewing several different YouTube videos from Ibanez and Ibanez players who use this system helped in this process tremendously. After the string change and trem adjustments were complete the tuning process began. In about 15 minutes I had my tuning and fine tuning adjustments made and everything locked down and ready to play, I found a nice Satriani style backing track on YouTube, plugged my Ibanez into my Eleven Rack, picked out my setting and away we went. I pushed and pulled the trem in every different direction while playing and the guitar never went out of tune. The pickups sounded great, I could get sparkly read more clean tones when I needed them and I could push them all the ways into the darkest depths of heavy Metal and they could handle it all with ease. I am a 58 year old who has been playing since the age of eleven, I have my own Recording Studio in my home and am a Professional Songwriter and Musician, don't ever believe you are too old to find a new groove, with this Ibanez SIX6DFM in my hands I am off on a new direction that I think even "Satch" would be smiling at! Get you one of these great Ibanez guitars, and get it from the fantastic people at zZounds you won't be disappointed I guarantee it!
