Eye-catching Bubinga-Topped Mahogany Body

Your SIX27FD Iron Label S features an attractive burled bubinga top on a mahogany body. Mahogany resonates your mid and lower frequencies for a dark, full-bodied sound with plenty of depth. Bubinga will have similar effects as mahogany -- plus it looks great on the top of your axe. This baby also features a very attractive abalone binding to give your Iron Label a little extra visual flair.

Speed of Light Nitro Wizard 7 Neck

The most exploitable facet of your Iron Label S is its super-fast Nitro Wizard 7 neck. This supremely playable appendage is built using a three-piece maple/bubinga design, and topped with an ultra-smooth bound ebony fingerboard. The 24 jumbo frets on this baby harness incredibly tight action, and maple will add a little bit of bite to your speedy runs and heart-stopping licks.

Dual DiMarzio PAF 7 Humbuckers

read more Capturing your notes and fueling your signal with an all-out earth-shaking wail are the SIX27FD's dual DiMarzio PAF 7 humbuckers. This pair of pickups works together to bring you a gripping combo of body and edge, for a booming presence. Your neck humbucker pushes a bit more mids and low end, while your bridge will add more bite and aggression. Both of these humbuckers dish out a well-articulated signal of all seven strings. With pickups like these on your side, no mud or buzz will interrupt your playing.

Classy Gold Hardware

Adding extra flash to your Iron Label S is this baby's gold hardware. A secure and fashionable Gibraltar Standard 7 bridge holds your game down with assurance and confidence. A secure bridge means longer sessions of rock before you have to retune your instrument, and this axe's relaxed and loose feel means you can bend your strings further without losing your footing.

Ibanez SIX27FD Iron Label S

If Ibanez reigns supreme in the realm of high-performance guitars, it goes without saying that it stands as the ongoing deity of the seven-string. Like other Ibanez S models, the SIX27FD Iron Label S 7-string electric guitar follows form with a comfortable body-hugging design, slim fast-playing neck, great articulation and quick response of ebony fingerboard, and tonally matched pickups that invigorate and inspire.

Where the SIX27FDBG deviates from its Iron Label stable mates, is that it marries stripped down precision with the allure of sexy luxury appointments. The SIX27FDBG steps out on its own with a fiery burled Bubinga top/ Mahogany body, matched abalone body and headstock binding, and gold plated hardware. From there on out it's as heavy as it gets with DiMarzio PAF 7 pickups driving the growl, and a special 3-piece Nitro Wizard 7 Neck that guarantees stability, playing comfort, and responsiveness rarely found in other seven-strings.

Out of the box, I was very very impressed. Very sleek and slender looking guitar. Everything seemed crafted really well upon first look. Key words there: Upon first look. Everything was in it's right place. No dings, marks, etc. The bubinga top is absolutely gorgeous too. The pictures don't do it justice. Threw a new set of strings on after oiling the fretboard down and set the action to my liking. Then came to plugging it in. Although thin, this is a very big sounding guitar. The PAF7's deliver a crushing tone, although lower output Dimarzio pickups. The cleans are crystal clear and sweet as honey. Now we're on to the negative, and there is only one. However, this is no water under the bridge issue. The fret work on this guitar is atrocious. After running my hand down either side of the fretboard, I'm surprised I don't have any cuts. The ends of the frets are sharp and sticking out on either side of the neck. They aren't even remotely level as I am experiencing note buzz on only a few frets, while others are fine. This is inexcusable for a $1000 guitar. I don't know how the rest of the guitar can be so perfect while the fretwork can be so butchered. It's as if the frets were just thrown on the board and they said "alright call it a day guys." I'm not going to return this because I would rather see if I can get the frets dressed PROPERLY because I'm in love with the rest of the guitar. But, I shouldn't even have to seek somebody out to do this work on a guitar in this price range. read more Get it together Ibanez. If I can't get the fret issue fixed, I will be returning this. I can't give rating for manufacturer support because I have not dealt with Ibanez before.
