Wizard III neck Super-fast fretting and maximum comfort
Ibanez Quantum pickups High-output tone with high-end articulation

If Ibanez holds the most iconic name in metal, then the RG is certainly the guitar that built this reputation. Every inch of this Ibanez RG470AHM is a classic that screams speed, fury, and expression. The RG470AHM features an Ash body sparkling highs and beefy lows, and it's complemented by the distinction of a Maple fretboard, which, as tone aficionados know well, yields a shade more "bite" to the guitar's voice. As the originators of the thin, fast neck, the Wizard III is yet another achievement in player comfort--comfort that translates into maximizing player performance. Proprietary Quantum pickups for a focused, vintage meets modern, vibe and you've got a guitar that's every inch a pure metal machine.

This is a wonderful instrument. I read a few reviews elsewhere complaining about fret issues (rough edges mostly), but I am happy to say this one has none of those. The pickups are also top notch. The single coil gives the expected squawk, and both the bridge and neck pickups perform admirably. I was prepared to put some Seymour Duncans in there but it is completely unnecessary. If I do change them out it will be to put white ones in for a nice contrast. I am 100% satisfuied with this guitar and do not expect to ever part with it.Also the guitar came almost perfectly set up and I had to make very few adjustments to get it to be perfect. Ibanez may not make a public appearance much but they do read the reviews of their products and make changes to fix them.Another thing: the finish on this guitar is sublime. It is so beautiful I would be terrified if it somehow got damaged. It will spend most of its time in my studio save for the occasional live show I will be doing. If you are on the fence about this, have fallen in love with teh color, and want a versatile guitar that can cover any style, do not hesitate! Buy it!
