The classic Destroyer body, topped with flamed maple and loaded with hot Tone Zone and Air Norton humbuckers, give this Ibanez DT520FM instant attitude.

What's special about this item?

Feature: What it does:
DiMarzio Air Norton neck pickup Deep and warm sound; hotter output
DiMarzio Tone Zone bridge pickup Higher output, wider dynamic range
Flamed maple top Premium wood grain with bright, projecting tone
Bound rosewood fretboard Warm rosewood tone; beautiful binding

The Ibanez DT520FM Destroyer electric guitar features a brilliant Flamed Maple top in Cherry Red Sunburst. The body and neck are made of tight Mahogany for maximum resonance. The bound Rosewood fingerboard is adorned with smart Pearl/Abalone block inlays and Jumbo frets.

The DT520FM also features Tight-tune bridge for increased sustain and tuning stability, and Sure Grip III control knobs for no-slip control. But don't let its good looks deceive you, the versatile combination of a DiMarzio "Air Norton" in the neck and a DiMarzio "The Tone Zone" in the bridge delivers a wide range of tones from clean to crushing. It's not called the Destroyer for nothing.

Since it was originally introduced in 1975, the Destroyer has become an icon of that era's chapter in rock n' roll history. Over the years it has undergone many incarnations, and the perennial classic returns once again.

I Own, And Have Played Les Paul's, Stratocaster's, And Just About Everything In Between. Back In 82, I Purchased A "DESTROYER 2", As My First Real Guitar. The Thing I Liked About It Was The Looks, And That Very Distinctive "TONE ZONE" Distortion Sound (One Of A Kind). I Was Talked Into Trading It For A Gibson SG. Mistake... Oh Well, I Told Myself I Would Just Go Out, And Get Another Destroyer. SURPRISE! They Didn't Make Them Anymore. Bummer, Limited Item At That Time. 30 Years, And Multiple Guitars Later SURPRISE!!! "Honey I'm Home". I Saw It Listed At ZZOUNDS. I Could Have Purchased One At Guitar Whatever Here In Cleveland, But It Had Gold Hardware Like My Old Destroyer Had. I Didn't Then, And Do Not Now, Care For Gold Hardware On A Guitar. It Wears Off, Like Really Fast. Speaking Of Really Fast. The Neck On This Guitar Is Second To None For Shredding. JUMBO Fret's, And All. The Neck Has That Perfect Feel For Playing Long Hours. Sound Wise. If You Know How To use The Volume, Tone, And Pickup Selector Correctly. You Can Safely Consider Yourself A "Highly Dangerous Man", In Any Room, COUNTRY, Or WESTERN. Yes It Does Just Fine With The Clean Sound. Don't Forget, You've Got An AIR NORTON Pickup On The Bridge. SWEET. If I Only Had One Thing I Would Change. The Destroyer 2 Had Coil Splitting For The "TONE ZONE" Pickup On The Bridge. I Never Used It Anyway. All That Being Said. If I Only Had One Guitar To Choose From To Go Into Battle, On Any Stage. The Destroyer Is My Weapon Of read more Choice. Trust Me, I Know First Hand. They Don't Call It The Destroyer For Nothing!
