Rosewood fretboard Open, warm tone and smooth playing feel

Top-shelf materials and commanding tone, all for an affordable price. Now the long-awaited fretless version is available for BTB 6-string. The 6-string Ibanez BTB676F Fretless Electric Bass unleashes unbelievable sound capabilities, thanks to quality woods, superior construction, and cutting-edge electronics.

A solid light ash body with a walnut top offers cool looks backed up by rugged construction. The rugged 5-piece maple and bubinga thru-neck creates stronger, more dedicated tone and sustain. Exaggerated cutaways and curves make upper-fret access effortless. The 35" neck scale provides superior articulation ideal for low tunings, and offers tight, even tension with no flopping on the low end, and added sustain on the high strings.

The exclusively designed New Bartolini BH1 pickups are balanced for tone and plenty of sizzle. Balancing clarity with warmth is the hallmark of the new Bartolini pickup. Coils with lower resonant frequency provide tighter bottom end and full midrange. Also, the dual-coil style configuration maximizes articulation. A long blade polepiece widens the magnetic field, therefore, whether five-string or six, sound level is balanced by the ultra-precise vibration reaction of the longer coils. Also the active 3-band EQ, featuring fully independent bass, treble and mid controls with a wide boost/cut range, with Mid frequency switch (250Hz or 600Hz: the heart of the mid zone) provides more tonal versatilities.

The Mono-Rail bridge delivers the ultimate read more in string-to-string isolation, meaning that each string vibrates optimally without being affected by the other strings. BTB's string spacing is 19mm for 5-strings, and 17mm for 6-strings, offering more freedom on the fretboard, and comfortable access for finger picking and slapping. Die-cast tuners, cosmo black hardware, and a flat finish round out the Ibanez BTB676F Fretless 6-string bass guitar's features to make it truly is work of the luthier's art." read less

"BUY THIS BASS!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

I've had one for several months now and I absolutely adore it. Nice wide neck, good neck profile, great playability, good factory setup on the action. The pickups are fantastic. The weight and balance are good. Love the way it looks. Locking jack is a nice feature. The tone on this instrument is luscious; it absolutely sings. Surprising sustain for a fretless, neck through&active pickups pays off.

Sound
This guitar has fantastic tone, all the way across the fingerboard. The middle of the board gives a nice syrupy vocalesque sound, the lows growl and the high range can sing like a bird. Portamento and vibrato can produce some gorgeous nasally tones, that mwah you hear people talk about regarding fretless bass is quite easy to achieve. One can get a nice wide range of rich, vibrant tones depending on playing style and pickup settings. Articulation is pretty good.

Features
The materials seem of acceptable quality and I really like the feature set, though I wish it had a knob in place of the mid selector switch. (which toggles the mid knob between 250 and 600Hz)

Ease of Use
This bass is exceedingly playable, right out of the box. The factory setup on mine was just about perfect. It's quite easy to make this bass sound awesome.

Quality
It seems quite well built, as though it should last many years if handled properly. I expect it'll outlive me as read more long as it isn't abused.

Value
I don't anticipate finding anything better in this price range.

The Wow Factor
It sounds and feels just about perfect for me, and looks gorgeous.
