The Ibanez AVC6DTS is a classic grand concert style body with an artfully distressed finish featuring a solid Sitka Spruce top with Mahogany back and sides, and a satin-finish Mahogany neck. The combination of Spruce and Mahogany construction produces a bright high-end with a warm, full low-end, reminiscent of guitars associated with the acoustic boom of the early 60's.

A bone nut and saddle make this an extremely responsive instrument, reproducing delicate fingerpicking or percussive strumming with equal distinction. Other features include a herringbone rosette and Antique Nickel tuners, to complement this instrument's aged character.

Taking a "modern approach to acoustic guitar tradition," the Ibanez Artwood Series of acoustic instruments has long been a source of pride and a labor of love. Now with the Artwood Vintage Series, Ibanez looks to the past for inspiration in the development of historically influenced instruments.

Ever since I saw these distressed guitars at Namm 2016 I've been dying to get my hands on one, and I knew the Grand Concert was the size I wanted. Any worries about this guitar being all style and no substance quickly flew out the window as soon as I unboxed and started playing it. This thing sounds absolutely gorgeous! It must be the virtual lack of finish on the top and sides, no thick coating of gloss to dull the sound. For both fingerpicking and strumming styles, this guitar more than surpasses my expectations. Intonation and set-up were flawless right out of the box. Visually, there's really nothing I can say that will do this guitar justice. The pictures here on zZounds are fairly accurate: a nice deep rich tobacco stain with random nicks and a few areas where the finish looks 'rubbed off'.. it looks fantastic in person, not at all hokey. The distressed look comes off as 100% authentic, and because of this finish I won't care if it accidentally gets dinged up a little more (which is inevitable). I cannot stress how incredible this thing looks in person, Ibanez really hit it out of the park with these models! Play and action is spot on. For $500 this is a steal. Bone nut and saddle, no dead spots, no complaints. First time dealing with zZounds and speed/service/quality were top notch. Very satisfied, and now off to play some more.
