About This Product!
Description
Docs
Twenty-five years after its debut, the Artist is still the more comfortable, more affordable, and just plain smarter alternative to the "other" classic 2-humbucker Mahogany guitar. If that isn't enough, Artist Series guitars are fitted with far superior hardware.

Features
AR neck

Flamed Maple Top/Mahogany Back: Mahogany provides rich, warm lows and sweet sustain. The Flamed Maple top adds the right amount of highs.

Large Frets: Allow a more traditional feel when playing a slightly rounder and wider fretboard radius.

Full Tune II bridge: The classic bridge/stop tailpiece design with height adjustable bridge and individual intonation adjustment.

AH1 neck pickup: The Axis AH1 is a very responsive, full sounding, ceramic magnet humbucker with medium output. Lots of character and excellent for recording.

AH2 bridge pickup

Ibanez AR250 Electric Guitar (Honey Sunburst) Reviews

"Solid, Smooth, and Sexy!"
Feature:
I love the two humbuckers and the 3-way switch with tone and volume for each pickup. The Full Tune II bridge is a major plus for me! You can adjust your action and get your intonation pretty damn easy. Other than that it is just a good old guitar. You don't need fancy features if you can play! I wouldn't mind a tremelo though but I got my Strat for that stuff. I guess the double cut away is sort of a feature that let's you rip it upstairs. I like that alot and it just looks damn cool! Sort of Gibson SG-like.

Quality:
It's one solid guitar. Maybe not as heavy as some Les Paul's but I like not getting tired of holding it up. The glued on neck is a great feature that gives a great sustain I think. The finish is the sunburst or whatever and has a smooth classic look to it. The mahogany back and neck is lovely too. This matches up with alot of more expensive guitars for half the price!

Value:
The best! Hands down, whatever that means, the best! I looked all over Texas trying to find a new solid humbucking guitar and this one popped up in Ft. Worth for me and I had to buy it.

Desirability:
To me it brought together features of the Les Paul in it's own way that seemed somehow aesthetically better. I heard someone say it is sexy like a chick with it's curves. I sleep with mine!

Sound:
I wanted a Dickey Betts/Duane Allman/Jerry Garcia type of guitar that had the humbucker sound, and this made my cut. A deep solid sound playing on the back pickup and a high range solo sound for the top pickup. I don't play with both pickups too often but you can adjust the volume and tone of each pickup to your taste. The tonation is adjustable and I have got it right on for every string, which I think is pretty impressive since my first electric, a Strat from Korea, couldn't get it done. I play through a Peavey Prowler 45 Watt all tube amp and it sounds great to me. I don't play live or anything but I have played for 11 years now and I can tell the differance between my Strat and the AR250 hands down. I also like it for slide playing.

Support:
I have only had my AR250 for 2years and haven't needed any company support, so I figure that's some pretty damn good support, not needing it!

Overall:
I want to keep this guitar till I die! I've noticed the frets are starting to get their normal wear patterns so I'm sure I'll either have to file them down or replace them. The Full Tune II bridge is showing signs of wear, not sure, so I figure I'll have to replace that if any of the screws ever lock up or something. I think it is just from my palm always resting on it but the tail piece isn't wearing so I think the bridge just isn't chrome plated as thick or something. Other than that it's all good!

"Rockin AX"
Feature:
Love the double cutaway and arch top

Quality:
well put together

Value:
extremely good value for the buck

Desirability:
alittle of both..I got it as a new ax for my collection. Alwaysloved double cutaways for access to the upper registers, and the flamed top has a classy appeal

Sound:
Has a really nice, rich tone!!!! Only complaint is that the volume controls tend towards distortion around "6"

Support:
n/a

Overall:
I will probably supplement it in a year with a "Strat" clone with single coils(you don't happen to make one with stacked humbuckers and a "dual-to-single" switch, do you?).
