Overview
The Ibanez AGBV200A Active Electric Bass captures the look of older vintage gear, well-worn with battle scars earned throughout its years of hard use. Much like a vintage leather jacket or rare antique furnishings, it immediately feels comfortable and sets a tone unlike anything brand new, right off the shelf. It's this idea that inspired the new Ibanez Artcore Vintage Series.
Lurking beneath its aged looking facade and smoky, low gloss finish is a sophisticated semi-hollow that can easily handle almost any musical challenge imaginable. The AGBV200A features a select-grade maple top, back and sides. The fretboard is a rich rosewood, contrasted by white dot inlays. The 3-piece Artcore Maple/Mahogany neck has proven its reliability on thousands of Ibanez hollow and semi-hollow bodies throughout the years. The Gibraltar III bridge is rock solid. The Classic Elite pickups are matched perfectly to Artcore basses- very responsive, warm in tone coloration yet since they are of moderate output, minimizing the likelihood of feedback.

I was fortunate to get a firsthand look at the 2016 winter NAMM show, walking into the Ibanez display it drew me straight in to it, the looks were amazing and I couldn't help but pick up and plug in to the Promethean amp sitting there and immediately dialed in a nice warm tone that just screamed Motown with a smalli minor tweaking I got a nice bright piano like John Entwistle tone out of it and the neck was smooth as silk. This Bass just looks and plays amazingly I did not look at the price until after I was done and then had to do a double take that should've been at least twice if not more of the price, you cannot go wrong if you're looking for a unique vintage looking but not relic'd and great sounding bass guitar this is the one.. Do not be fooled by the price this Bass is the real deal
