Hohner Essential Series Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar

This large-bodied dreadnought acoustic puts the bass notes to the forefront. The simple design compliments the guitar's big, full sound.

Essential Series Dreadnought
No guitar line is complete without a traditional dreadnought model, the mothership of steel string guitars. Players go for the large dreadnought body when they look for strong volume and very pronounced bass. The Essential Dreadnought comes with the same "no frills" understatement as the rest of the series and is factory strung with a D'Addario set.

Hohner Essential Series
The Hohner Essential Series acoustic guitars focus on exquisite yet simple design, great sound and playability. All Essential Series guitars have tops from solid sitka spruce, backs and sides mahogany, neck from natoh and a rosewood fretboard.

I intend to buy several different guitars because i can an i want too. The Seagull line and Gibson both get my attention, yet this guitar will be played for years to come.

Sound
It was the first guitar that i could afford and when i got it...worries abounded me with if i could learn on it or not. Turns out that a very good friend and husband of my care attendant (i'm crippled) came in and of course i handed it to him. He did a quick glance and looked my way to get my okay which i nodded to the fermentation. He loosened all the strings a bit then one by one restrung properly the strings one by one, strummed it and i went wow. Then's when i handed him my snark tuner and when he clipped it on starting on big e it was out by a skotch as were the others but then when he stung it, he never tuned just set close at time and it was his own supprize that it was that close. He pulled it up to his belly and let that girl loose! It sounds awsume. But this unit was accourding to history of other owners about 25 years old so i start with a winner.

Features
it came second hand with 5 strings that were dead on arival. I put the new strings on wrong i might add but on.

Ease of Use
so easy to work with as the tuners are open style but geared good. crome dicast. not expensive but work well.

Quality
this rateing is high by one point but in her defense, after i beet her up learning read more cords, my friend borrowed her for a bar gig. was played for about 3 hours or more that night and it cought comlements all night long and others played on it like it was the beach bunny. this guitar loved the attention and no even sounds better. i just gave her some new strings (fair) but vaccummed her out all the dust and stuff and with good light gave tight inspection. nothing loose and every thing in good shape. this guitar had a couple little nicks in finish (poly gloss) when i got her. the binding is tight, finish has no scratchs after a good rub down and shines in dark with no light. Okay...there needs to be light....ha ha, but not much as it glows.

Value
worth more to me than i payed...$100.00 bucks delivered by kid who just wanted off it.

Manufacturer Support
I went to their website and it was easy enough to follow. The glitch is that they didn't keep a record by serial no. that would record year made exactly but i'm okay with that as it is a beach guitar as it has been called. I just enjoy it so much that i doubt i ever get rid of.. maybe right grand child as i'm 62 and won't last that much longer with the medication i take. its killing me but big pharma is like that.. they just don't care and i surprise doctors by not dieing on them. need surgery to correct problem.

The Wow Factor
It grabs attention all on its own so i guess she is a stand alone queen... not case queen but bar queen as the boys like to play her and she will belt out with good sustain and get the lows and highs alike.

Musical Background:
been playing about a year

Musical Style:
blues and country...old rock and roll
