The Gibson Songwriter Deluxe Studio EC acoustic-electric guitar is built to provide warm tones that resonate through the body and neck. When you need to turn it up louder, the Fishman electronics system ensures your sound stays true.

Crafted for Maximum Resonance

This Gibson Songwriter Deluxe is designed from the ground up to provide resonant tone. Constructed with a Sitka spruce top and Indian rosewood back and sides, this particular Songwriter features an Advanced-X bracing pattern with a wider X brace than most current models. This creates a more open area under the bridge which warms up the midrange and helps boost the volume.

The resonance continues through the guitar's neck, joined to the body in the old-fashioned method using a dovetail joint and hide glue. This makes for a more cohesive joint than bolt-on necks, allowing the neck to better resonate with the body.

Fishman Electronics Accurately Amplify Warm Tone

Equipped with a Fishman Prefix Plus-T electronics system, the Songwriter Deluxe can reach large audiences without sacrificing its warm sound. You can tweak your electronic tone with the bass, contour, treble, and brilliance EQ controls and fight feedback with the notch filter and phase switch. An onboard tuner with LED display makes staying in tune simple.

Appointments like the custom pickguard, double-ring rosette, and dual-parallelogram fretboard read more inlays will catch your eye, but there are other features your ears and hands will appreciate. In today's world, many acoustic guitar manufacturers have chosen to build their instruments more quickly, cheaply, and in greater numbers.

Gibson Songwriter Deluxe Studio ECs are made one-at-a-time, by hand. No shortcuts. No substitutions. They're made in Bozeman, Montana, where the climatic conditions are ideal for guitar building. Most importantly, Gibson Songwriter Deluxe Studio ECs are built by master craftspeople that have dedicated their lives to building the world's finest acoustic instruments.

These elements combine to create the difference that is the Gibson acoustic guitar. The difference is "MasterBuilt."

Artistry At Work

Experienced builders and players understand that handmade quality, design, and construction determine an instrument's ability to produce truly beautiful sound. Gibson's methods of handmaking guitars have remained unchanged for nearly a century.

The top brace of each guitar is carefully scalloped and arched to focus the sound to the center of the sound-hole. The resulting distinctive "Gibson Tone" shares the same vibrance and fidelity as the sound from a fine audio speaker.

Instead of a cheaper bolt-on neck, Gibson's dovetail joint technique creates a cohesive bond between the vibrating neck and body - almost as if the guitar were carved from a single piece of wood. This time-honored technique effectively transfers the strings' vibrations directly into the wood for superior tone and unsurpassed resonance.

Finally, unlike other manufacturers, Gibson still uses its famous "violin-like" lacquer finish. Over the years, the complex makeup of the lacquer merges with the wood, further sweetening the instrument's tone and providing an unmistakable "vintage" look and feel that players and collectors have come to cherish.

Each Gibson acoustic guitar is full of expression, character, and exquisite beauty. None is ordinary, and no 2 are alike. When compared to a marketplace full of "lookalikes," the differences of a MasterBuilt Gibson acoustic are unmatched in quality and performance.

Overall, I love this guitar and would buy it again with no hesitation. I highly recommend it to anyone considering buying it. You will not be disappointed. Go ahead and buy it. There is never that perfect moment to afford a high-end guitar like this so just go ahead and pull the trigger and take it home with you.

Sound
Outstanding. Hands down compares to any Martin or Taylor and I think sounds better than any acoustic dreadnought I have ever played. I have a Martin D28 which is hard to beat but the Songwriter holds it own and I can't put it down. Great bass sound and bright but not shrill.

Features
The Fishman electronics are top-notch and you have a large variety of useful features. Easy to change out the 9volt battery too unlike some others I've looked at.

Ease of Use
Right out of its case, the action is lower than other high-end acoustics like Martin's. This guitar is so much easier to play. I would recommend this to beginners as well as you won't get as discouraged trying to learn your harder chords. Very easy to barr and no buzzing. Just fun to play and a dream to play.

Quality
I get compliments all the time on this guitar. The abalone inlay on the rosette, neck and headstock is absolutely beautiful and high quality. It definitely turns heads. The cutaway adds to this guitar as well. Not an ugly cutaway like many have. Solidly built and feels well made. read more

Value
I feel like I definitely got what I paid for. Don't feel cheated or burned. This guitar is worth every penny.

Manufacturer Support
Can't comment, have never had to contact support.

The Wow Factor
Late at night when I'm playing so I have no distractions from the family...:-)...I finish playing and then sometimes place my Songwriter on my guitar stand and just gaze at her. If it was another woman I would be in trouble.
