The SGS3 takes the timeless elegance of the "Black Beauty" and applies it to the iconic SG body style to create a stunning homage to this early-'60s rocker. The classic SG body is crafted from solid mahogany, with asymmetrical pointed horns and a beveled edge for comfort, and looks absolutely killer in Ebony nitro with 5-ply black pickguard and black Top-Hat knobs. Gold-plated hardware -- including a vintage-style Sideways Vibrola updated for improved performance -- completes the Custom look, while three of Gibson's popular '57 Classic humbuckers ensure unparalleled tone. The glued-in mahogany neck has a SlimTaper profile for that fast, slick playing feel that rockers have come to know and love, with a bound one-piece rosewood fingerboard with acrylic trapezoid inlays. Protect it in a Vintage Brown hardshell case from gig to gig, and you're ready to rock out in grand style.

The guitar plays perfectly, it sounds wonderful. The build quality is exceptional, a great nitrocellulose finish and a wonderful array of gold plated parts. It is more beautiful in person than online here. The vibrola tremolo is great for subtle surf twang but if you try to get crazy with it the guitar goes out of tune easily. It isn't made for that anyway really. If you want that then get a Floyd Rose tremolo. The feel of the neck is perfect and is close to the 61 Gibson SG style I own as well. Look, if you love SGs then this guitar is for you because the tone is amazing. It has that perfect classic rock tone from the 57 Classic Plus bridge pickup and with the 57 Classic in the neck and middle you have the best jazz sounds and tones ever. Think vintage Les Paul guitar style playing and some great jazz as well. Blues, good lord .... it sings the blues. The sustain is amazing. The note or chord will hold and ring for so long. I am absolutely in love with this purchase. For the guitar itself, the weight is heavier than a regular SG of course given the hardware but it also balances the guitar out as you don;t have that neck SG dive from the body being so light on a normal SG here with this one. It feels like you're holding something special. zZounds got here in perfect shape also.

Musical Style:

Rock, blues, jazz, funk.
