I have to say I was nervous buying a guitar on line sight unseen but I have change my outlook on that. With the no hassle return I thought I would give it a try, plus I really wanted the Gibson 2017 Standard T in Pelham Blue and no one local had that. Received this beautiful guitar yesterday in a sealed box, last touched by the manufacture, and it was perfect . Set up, intonation, string height and finish was all perfect. Sounds amazing and for any of you Fender players out there the neck on this guy is nice and slim. I just measured at the 12th fret compared to my USA Fender strat using some calipers and all measurements between the two were with-in .01 of an inch, which is why I liked this model Gibson SG. Always wanted an SG but the few I have tried in the past the neck felt like a 2x4 and just didn't like the feel, then went to a guitar store near me and tried one of these 2017 models because I was hearing good things about this year model and fell in love immediately. Not sure what other year model SG's I was trying in the past, mostly used ones, but this ones feels as comfortable as my 2004 Fender strat and gives me some new sounds and tones I do not have with my strat. Also a little more fuel to start playing a little more and enjoying something that I have loved to do since I was a kid.

Sound
Great blues and rock tones, love the pickups! The sustain is amazing and the rosewood finger board feels great

Straight forward features, easy to use .

Ease of Use
Plays like butter, takes 2 seconds to figure out features like the locking tuners, a new one for me, along with the rest of the controls.

Quality
This is top notch quality. Setup, and finish was all perfect. I have seen people complain about quality on some of these products over the years but I see no issues here, Like anything sometimes you get a lemon, but not in my case. I was little nervous about this staying in tune, as I have seen that pop up on some reviews and people having to modify to correct or improve but mine was perfect once I stretched the strings out and played and re-tuned a couple times. All components feel solid and I am sure will stand the test of time.

Value
As it is if you want a quality USA built product you pay for it, this product is in line with that, not to mention I wanted to jump on this 2017 model because zZounds had a great price with no tax and the 2018 models have increased their price by $300

Manufacturer Support
Called Gibson to see if they would send me the fret board cover, it was the one piece of case candy not received that I have seen pics of in other peoples posts. The person I talked to said that they are no longer sending SG guitars with them, he was polite but I did not get the feeling he knew for sure, as at first he stated sometimes stores remove them and this is obviously not the case as my product was in a sealed box that had no signs of being opened and taped back up. Nothing upsetting but just in case I talked to someone who maybe just didn't know I emailed Gibson support with the same request, I have to wait and see what happens.

The Wow Factor
Bucket list item for me, I have my USA Fender and now a USA Gibson SG. I jumped on this for fear that Gibson would through that fat neck back into the line up and don't want to pay the same or more money for a used 61 reissue in order to get the slimmer neck, which is the only one I know of no matter what year it was built that has the non 2x4 neck feel that I am not a fan of.
