You want high voltage? This SG was designed for those about to rock: it has lightning bolt inlays, an Angus Young Signature pickup, and a super-slim neck.

What's special about this item?

Feature: What it does:
Mahogany body Rich, warm, focused sound; added sustain
Angus Young humbucking pickup High output; growling tone and vintage-style punch
Slim profile neck Comfortable design; easier chording at lower frets
Lightning Bolt fret inlays One-of-a-kind Angus Young-inspired position inlays

The lightning bolts on the fretboard aren't the only high-voltage feature on the Gibson Angus Young SG. With a slim neck, Young's own humbucking pickup, and lightweight mahogany body, this guitar is ready to do some dirty deeds.

A Highway to Hellish Tone

The Angus Young SG captures Young's unmistakable overdriven sound by way of its pickups. The '57 Classic in the neck position is a replica of the famous "Patent Applied For" early humbuckers and is known for its warm sound that responds well to overdrive. AC/DC aficionados will recognize the tonality of the bridge pickup right away: it's an Angus Young Signature humbucker, and it's got all the bright, ripping sound from the band's catalog. The pickup is also wax-potted twice to prevent undesired microphonic noise.

Slim Neck, Speedy Play

Whether you're looking to recreate the intro to "Thunderstruck" or shred on some blazing pentatonic runs of your own, the slim neck on this SG is designed for fast play. Its slim profile already offers a unique feel among SGs, but what truly sets it apart is the thinner width of the fretboard. The neck measures .850" thick at the 12th fret and .775" at the first fret. This makes for an easier time with bends and chording, especially for players with smaller hands.

100 Percent Angus

Between the thunderbolt fretboard inlays and Angus Young signature on the truss rod cover, there's no mistaking who this guitar is honoring. More subtle nods to Young include the classic SG pickguard read more shape, cream neck binding and vintage-style tuners. The body is made of mahogany for a rich and warm sound, but like other SGs, it's light enough to inspire you to try out the duckwalk for yourself.

Gibson Angus Young Signature SG

For those about to rock it doesn't get much better than the Gibson Angus Young Signature SG electric guitar. This killer axe designed by the man himself has the look and tone that's as mean as Angus' playing. With a Gibson 57 Classic neck pickup and an Angus Young Signature pickup, this SG has that classic sound with great mellowness in the neck position and loads of edge in the bridge.

Lightning bolt inlays on the bound rosewood fingerboard give the Angus Young Signature SG a high voltage look that will set you apart. Angus prefers a super slim neck profile and that's exactly what Gibson provides, this allows for fast playability and comfort.

The build quality has some to be desired. Had to get a replacement the first the binding in the fret board was half finished inbetween the frets and bridge was loose. The second was a little better but still not what I expect a new Gibson to be.. Beyond that the neck Is freakin sweet it so small and fast and the TONE. It plays great and sounds incredible. Perfect if you find modern necks too big. I have small hands and before I played only vintage guitars because they made them smaller in the 60s and this is just like the REAL 60s necks. And the tone out of 57 is great and the angus pup is spot on nails the acdc sound. I am buying another and putting set of real PAFs in it and I will have a 60s sound and playing with out paying 60s guitars price.
