A mixed bag: It sounded amazing. Amazing and spooky in a good way. Maybe that should be the bottom line, maybe not. But while the sound was to die for, the guitar had a couple of issues. There was glue seepage on the inside of the guitar that was visible. The ivoroid tuners were blue. I'm serious, I mean a distinct and noticeable blue/grey color, not cream or white. (I've seen this happen before with some bridge pin material) Also, where the X-braces cross each other below the sound hole, the two braces were not flush. One sat higher than the other. These in and of themselves are not end-of-the world issues, but for a $2,600+ guitar the QC should be higher than that. I decided to return it however due to the narrow nut width and low profile neck. I really, really wanted this guitar to work out. It sounded so amazing and the burst top was mesmerizing. But I want to be clear that zZounds was great about the return, no questions asked with a full refund. You cant beat that! Much respect to zZounds.
