The Les Paul Studio '60s Tribute model embodies the look and tone of the great original Les Pauls from the 1960s, at a price that fits the wallets of today's hardworking musicians.

Ever since its introduction in 1983, the Les Paul Studio model has been enormously popular with players seeking the power and versatility of the original Les Paul Standard in a ready-for-action package, with a price to match. The Les Paul Studio '60s Tribute sticks to the script entirely, but its five worn '50s-style finishes reflect the wear of a well-played guitar and meaty dual single-coil P-90 pickups give it a look akin to classics from the decade of the Les Paul's birth, while it's fast SlimTaper neck profile reflects the feel of Les Paul Standards from 1960, the year before this legendary solidbody was deleted (temporarily!) from the Gibson line up.

The Les Paul Studio '60s Tribute's Worn Gold Top, Worn Honey Burst, Worn Heritage Cherry Sunburst, Worn Ebony, and Worn White finishes nail the appearance of five popular Standard and Custom finishes from 1952-60, while its unbound body and neck and chambered mahogany body with carved maple top keep it in line with the simplicity that thousands of Les Paul Studio players already cherish.

A Nashville Tune-o-matic bridge, stopbar tailpiece and Kluson-style tuners keep it all rock-solid and resonant and its gnarly P-90 tone stays true to the Les Paul style. Overall: I was more than satisfied with the quality of this guitar. I had read other reviews talking about how the non Gibson guitars that looked like certain Gibson models didn't perform well or the quality wasn't as good. What impressed me the most is that Gibson did a quality checklist that covered every aspect of this guitar. Each specific item about the guitar was personally checked by a live person and checked off and signed personally by the quality control specialists. The fact that zzounds offered a 12 month payment plan on this guitar was the final deal maker. No other place I know offers this type of payment plan that allows you to pay for your guitar over a specific number of months. This is why I will continue to buy my guitars from zzounds now and in the future.

Overall: Processing my order was fairly smooth. Regular Shipping by FEDEX was prompt enough. The package seemed VERY Light when the Fedex Guy handed the box to me. Actually, 2 boxes. I thought at first, that they had only shipped the Gig Bag !! I didn't realize just how much weight was lost when they "Chambered" these babies. The Finish was Beautiful. The only real disappointment was the poor quality of the Fret Dressing. I own a 1961 SG/Les Paul Jr. , as well as a 2006 Epiphone Les Paul, and both of those guitars had meticulous fret dressing done. I spent about 3 hours dressing them myself, before handing it over to a Pro to finish the job. I've been using this axe as my main Guitar , and for an old duck at 60 with a bad back, this guitar is a godsend. I usually use .011 Gauge Strings for Slidework, but so far, the stock .009s are holding up, and I play with a Heavy Hand.
