The Gibson LPJ Les Paul Left Handed Electric Guitar is a genuine Gibson USA axe at a fantastic price! The lefty LPJ offers all the ingredients that made the most desirable Les Paul Standards legendary--classic tonewoods, innovative hardware, two genuine humbuckers, and Gibson's acclaimed build quality and playability. The stripped-down design of the Gibson LPJ Les Paul is meant to be played, and played often!

Simpler esthetics and a cool worn-look finish technique add up to big savings for the player, and the left handed LPJ still looks great in grain-textured nitrocellulose lacquer. If you're a lefty looking for an affordable, unique Gibson guitar, look no further than the LPJ Les Paul!

Tonewoods

The LPJ begins with the classic wood combination of a mahogany back and two-piece carved maple top. When paired, these woods offer a tonal depth and complexity unmatched by any single-wood construction, with warmth and richness from the mahogany, and superb clarity and 'snap' from the maple, all of which translates beautifully into the guitar's amplified sound. The mahogany back is strategically weight relieved to improve comfort and enhance resonance.

A neck made from hard-wearing maple is glued into the body of the lefty Gibson LPJ, and carved to the popular rounded '50s profile. It is topped with a genuine rosewood fingerboard that carries 22 medium-jumbo frets and traditional trapezoid inlays. Quality touches continue with a PLEK-cut nut made from black Corian to subtly read more echo the black speed knobs and black pickup rings and covers. The traditional back-angled headstock is silkscreened with a gold Gibson logo that stands out clear and proud.

Electronics

A pair of Gibson's popular Modern Classics humbucking pickups fire up the LPJ Les Paul. Made in the image of the legendary PAF humbucker and modified to suit the needs of the contemporary guitarist, the set includes a 490R in the neck position, made with an Alnico II magnet and standard-wound coils for plenty of warmth and clarity, and a 498T in the bridge position, with over-wound coils and an Alnico V magnet for more punch and sizzle in your lead playing. An independent volume and tone control per pickup plus a three-way toggle selector switch allows a broad range of sonic variations

Hardware

Gibson USA's legendary Tune-o-Matic bridge and Stopbar tailpiece ensure solid sustain and outstanding intonation. A set of vintage-style tuners with black keys provides an impressive 16:1 gear ratio for precise and efficient tuning. Put it all together, and the left handed Gibson LPJ is the fastest road to a genuine Les Paul, sparing none of the tone, while putting the legend in your hands with far less load on your wallet.

I bought this guitar because it is the lowest priced American made guitar from a top manufactured. If you are looking for shine and bling, this is not the ax for you. But if sound is your priority, you will be amazed. The humbuckers are the same as on 1990's Les Paul Standards. The construction is flawless and the satin finish , at least to me, is more attractive than the shinier versions that you will pay much more for. I bought the antique satin. It is flat out beautiful. I will most likely never tap the full potential of this guitar, but it is nice to know that it has it. Well done, Gibson.
