The Gibson Flying V is the original rebel-rousing rocker, way ahead of its time in the late '50s and still a major style statement today. Following in the footsteps of this iconic guitar, the Limited Run Flying V 120 is the perfect candidate to join in Gibson USA's 120th Anniversary celebrations. Combining time-tested tonewoods, versatile pickups, and unparalleled Gibson USA craftsmanship at an unbeatable price, the Flying V 120 launches your music into the stratosphere, while making the perfect ticket to the party for collector and player alike.

The Flying V 120 takes off with a select mahogany body cut to the legendary space-aged angles of the original. The glued-in mahogany neck is carved to the fast, slim profile that so many rockers love, with a bound one-piece Grade-A rosewood fingerboard with frets over binding and dot inlays. The traditional "arrowhead" headstock has a white plastic truss-rod cover with Gibson logo, and there's a commemorative "120th Anniversary" banner at the 12th fret. Vintage tones with contemporary performance come from Alnico V Burst Bucker Pro Rhythm and Lead pickups, made in the image of the original PAF humbuckers with mismatched coils for characteristic bite and depth. A chrome Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece partner with Grover(TM) Kidney Button tuners for smooth, efficient performance. The Flying V 120 comes in a sleek Ebony finish in high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, all protected by an elegant brown hardshell case.

Guitar action came set up nice and low out of the box, very easy to play! Loads of sustain that seems to go on forever and not to mention this thing just looks killer. Beautiful axe to behold as well. I'm digging the upgraded tuners and the white neck binding...to me that makes these V's stand out from the older faded and regular 69 reissue V's. Pickups are very versatile, from heavy rock crunch to smooth blues lines seem easily within this guitars capabilities. It came with a brown hardshell leather case with a soft plush interior and very nice handles and locks. No pictures of the case on the website but trust me its a quality piece that looks built to last. Not too sure what I think about the new 12 fret inlay, would have preferred regular double dot, but still this is still hands down one of the very best playing guitars ive ever used in my 10+ years of being around guitars players and bands. This axe is going to get played and gigged with on a regular, its just plays and sounds too good to sit in a case for most of its life. Allso tho not guitar related I do have to mention the service from zZounds was pretty darn good, they followed up a couple weeks after I received the Guitar and played it for a bit to make sure I was completely satisfied, didn't expect the white glove treatment from an online store but ill take it! ;) Thanks to Dan and the team! A very satisfied new Gibson owner and zZounds Customer! Fox
