What's special about this item?

Feature: What it does:
Bookmatched figured maple top Matching grain pattern, bright top end
Mahogany back and neck Warm, focused and present midrange
25.5-inch scale Increases string tension for tighter bottom end
Custom Bucker pickups Closest PAF reproductions Gibson has created

However much you love the classic Les Paul look, feel, and tone, some playing styles just require a longer scale. Whether it's bangin' dropped tunings, liquid-like slide work, or meaty low-string twang, or just a preference for a little more string tension, the Les Paul 25.5" Scale from Gibson Custom nails it all. With a 25.5" scale length, it brings an alternative playing feel, piano-like bass notes, sparkling harmonic clarity, and characteristic "snap" to the table, all within the template of the world's most highly prized solidbody electric guitar.

This meticulously crafted guitar from Gibson Custom hits on all the high points for long-time Les Paul fans. A solid, lightweight, one-piece mahogany body and carved two-piece maple top; glued-in one-piece mahogany neck; classic hardware; and Gibson's impressive and extremely PAF-like Custom Bucker humbucking pickups deliver timeless Les Paul tone, with much more when you want it. All that, and the Les Paul 25.5" Scale is available in the V2 SlimTaper '60 profile neck shape.

Its looks stem from classic Les Paul aesthetics, too, but with a few elegant twists to enhance visual interest. Single-layer reissue cream binding graces the body's top and back, the rosewood fingerboard carries split-parallelogram inlays, a Gibson Custom medallion covers the rear switch access (spare plastic cover included), and it's all dressed in a hand-sprayed nitrocellulose finish. A Certificate of Authenticity keeps it real, and a Gibson Custom Hardshell read more case keeps it safe.

I've always favored long scale guitars. Well at least anything longer than the usual 24.75 Scale. The pick ups are so beautiful sounding I can hardly put into words the joy I feel when I run it through a clean amp. But it also growls when the volume is turned up with that perfect classic rock sound. If you are a Tele or Strat player, but could not get along with the shorter scale, you owe yourself at least a try with this beauty.
