Grover bass tuners High tuning ratio, extremely stable tuning

The Gibson EB electric bass guitar combines artisan craftsmanship and thoughtful modern features in an exceptionally ergonomic and playable instrument. The neck is a glued-in design with a full-scale scale length. Its two Alnico rod humbuckers have been uniquely re-designed and are intended to deliver maximum musical flexibility. The Gibson EB Electric bass guitar is well-suited for rock, jazz, funk, or really anything else you want to throw at it.

Attractive and Super-Ergonomic Design

The body on the Gibson EB is solid ash, which delivers an exceptionally open and clear tone with healthy amounts of punch and bite. The Grade-A maple neck is a deep set, glued-in design with a 34-inch scale length. It has a comfortable rounded profile measuring .800 inches at the 1st fret and .900 at the 12th. It has an unbound rosewood fingerboard with 20 medium jumbo frets. The Gibson EB Bass's new offset double-cutaway design makes it easy to play all the way through the highest frets on the neck. On the other end, you'll find a traditional Gibson headstock and super-high-quality Grover tuners that work with the precision PLEK cut Corian nut to ensure optimal sustain and intonation.

Classic Pickup Design, Reconsidered

Gibson's all-new Alnico V rod bass pickups were designed by Jim DeCola to give bassists more tonal versatility than is generally found on any electric bass. They utilize genuine Alnico V rod magnets with a proprietary winding method that results in a more focused and read more precise sound. Each pickup is also wired to an independent coil tap, which is engaged by pulling up on the corresponding volume knob. Firstly, this allows you to move effortlessly between a fat, rumbling humbucker tone to a more crisp single-coil tone. When both pickups are combined in Pull mode, the single coils work together to cancel hum and deliver yet another tonal possibility.

Futuristic Bridge Design

The Gibson EB Electric bass guitar also benefits hugely from the engineering marvel of the Babicz full-contact bass bridge. This uniquely re-considered design delivers a new degree of clarity and sustain, and is fully adjustable to accommodate particular tuning or action preferences.

Stylish And Contemporary

Overall, the 2013 Gibson EB bass feels like a thoroughly contemporary instrument that takes a healthy degree of inspiration from a great tradition of bass design. In the end, it offers the most to a contemporary musician looking for a bass that will prove versatile in a wide range of situations.

I was lucky enough to come across Zzounds right around the time my trusty old p-bass was starting to need some serious work. This bass can handle all the thump and growl of my old workhorse (modded with a bass lines quarter pound pickup) while also cleaning up beautifully.

Sound
The versatility is amazing. You can both tap and blend the coils on the humbuckers for a myriad of tones or just turn the bridge up to 10 turn the neck off and get the gritty thump of a p-bass. Handles a little bit of gain beautifully and really cut through the mix over both guitars.

Features
The coil tappable pickups are really fun for sure and sound great. I fell in love with it as soon as i opened the included white plush lined case. I love the weight of the guitar and its soft finish (I went fireburst) too, it is easy to play for extended periods. The glued in neck adds to its slim profile and is amazingly comfortable to play.

Ease of Use
Very playable, fast neck, good tuning pegs, easy control system and thunderous tone from the humbuckers.

Quality
Seems very well made, all the pots are nice and quiet and the frets a smooth and level.

Value
Most defiently, had I bought a Fender i would have been planning mods from day one. New pickups, tone circuits, bridge, hardshell case. I am completly happy with my Gibson and dont plan to alter it, other than read more strap locks.

The Wow Factor
Everyone in the band loved it, the finish is beautiful, the big full tone, and the profile of the glued in neck really stand out in person,
