I play a solid body Les Paul guitar. It's HEAVY, and causes me discomfort very quickly with a regular strap. So, even though it's a little pricey, I tried this Gibson "fatboy" strap, and oh wow, problem solved! Nice and comfy. Guitar seems a lot lighter now because this eases the weight problem well. This strap costs a bit, but you need to understand, it has real memory foam, it's a Gibson brand, and it's made of glove soft leather..so for three reasons, it ain't a cheapy! But it's worth it. I do recommend getting this strap if you're guitar is heavy and you need relief from the weight on your shoulder. I also recommend geting along with it, the Dunlop Dual Design Straplok System (here: http://www.zzounds.com/item--DNPSLS103 ). Get the 'black oxide' color, because that will disappear against the strap like it isn't even there...and you will have the safety of the strap being locked onto your guitar, so it can't fall and get damaged. Also I like the Dunlop Straplok system because I have two guitars, and so I bought two sets of locks, so I could outfit both guitars with the lock receivers for this strap (and you just click it on, it's sweet) - so now I can use this great srap with both my heavy Gibson guitars. Again, not cheap, but it's a piece of a real instrument,, and I do recommend this to solve discomfort from a heavy guitar. ..Now as for itslooks, meh, okay it isnt the prettiest strap you could pick (although it's kind of manly, what more do you want?) but it isn't about read more looks, it's about being able to play without getting sore and having to put the guitar down before you're done! Solid body electric guitars can be a problem like that....... Now, if you need a cheaper alternative, OR if you want a strap that's a little less bulky (this is thick and wide and puffy, in order to provide padding), but you could try this Franklin strap, here: http://www.zzounds.com/item--FRKSOUTHW2?siid=65636 . That one is 2" wide, and less bulky, looks a bit sleeker, comes in black, brown or yellow. But I cant vouch for how effective it is at relieving weight, because I don't own that one. It's just another choice I considered for a strap that is padded and made of soft leather, which it is, and it'd cost a few bucks less and look real nice too ( I considered it for both a red and a black Epiphone EB3 bass, which Zounds has for a great price, and oh that would look great together!). But..we're supposed to be talking about the Gibson fat boy strap, THAT one I own, that one I can assure you IS comfortable!!

Quality
Oh my yes it's well made. It's a high end strap, glove soft leather filled with real memory foam, made by Gibson, It's a beautiful thing.

Value
I wish they could knock 30 bucks off the price, but hey everything is going up, so...you get what you pay for, and this is the good stuff. This is a good good lifetime investment of a strap that will make your heavy axe float on your shoulder.

The Wow Factor
I want to put this in somewhere: if you have never dealt with zZounds before, and you dont know if you should trust an online store, relax! You are at THEE music store now. The place where 24/7 you can select from a whole full catalog of every little thing a musician could need. zZounds is a great company to deal with. If you ever receive a defective product, they will quickly replace it (and once did so for me, so I do know). But generally, you wont have to avail that guarantee, because everything I order arrives in great shape. I bought a guitar from zZounds, and they put it right in the case (even though that was bought seperately) for me, so it would be even safer when shipped, and when I opened it, it was perfect and beautiful and needed very little setting up (which I consider a bonus (you do generally have to set a new instrument up, but this arrived in playable condition. Yay.). I should add: NO shipping charges, and NO tax, and in my case - because I live in Massachusetts, and what I order usually ships from their New Jersey warehouse - what I order at 2 PM one day arrives on my porch by 1 PM the very next day! (Yay) ..Sometimes an item or two I order does have to come from zZounds' Nevada or Mississippi warehouses, Those take about 5 days to travel by Fed Ex across the country, but again, no charge for shipping! And satisfaction guaranteed. (And it's kind of fun watching it travel, on the Fed Ex tracking site :) ..I do however recommend you be there when the Fed Ex truck arrives, because they don't require a signature and will just drop your packages at your door. You don't want your packages stolen, so just look at the tracking info, it will tell you what day your stuff will arrive, and arrange to be there to accept delivery. It's the advisable thing to do. But other than that precaution, so that you don't end up owing for merchandise that was delivered, but got stolen off your porch, I assure you, I've bought thousands of dollars of stuff from these guys for going on two years now, and they're a solid company seeking to provide you with the happiness you pay for. They're fellow musicians even. They treat me great, and back it up. They price guarantee even. And I've had nice e-mails from them, and thank you's. ..Oh! And they will let you make payments even. I'm telling ya, it doesn't get better than Zounds, for a music store now. ...If you need any questions answered, you can call them, they have a trained knowledgable staff. And I also recommend you look on you tube for product demos about whatever you're considering buying (you can hear what an amp or guitar or whatever sounds like, and see video reviews in good detail there. I make better informed buying decisions now than ever before this way. You can't go wrong if you're willing to google around and make sure you've looked and asked all the questions you need to ask first. Also Amazon always seems to have a good reviews section for almost anything that can be bought (but I DON'T buy from Amazon if I dont have to, because those are just random people selling things. I BUY FROM ZOUNDS. But if you do ever need to see more reviews from customers who own a product your consdiering, you can see those there. But then come back here to do the actual buying, because you'll be dealing with a solid company that cares. This I found to be true!
