Gator's foray into the higher-end bag market. After using this bag, I'm totally done bothering with cases. I live in a big city and a huge bass case is a pain for cabs/public transit/practice spaces/cramped backstages/apartments. This is very durable and all the materials and components are of a quality you'd expect at this price. You can fit plenty of cables and a small sized amp in the pouch which is great. Backpack straps are easily removable which was useful because I've gate checked (and actually checked) my bass in this bag on several flights. The downsides- not the most comfortable backpack strap design, but it beats out anything comparable. For something as big as a bass, they could be wider but you have to make concessions with it for form factor. I've walked 2+ miles with it with no problem though. The other problem is the bottom padding- it's removable but that also means your bass slides down in the space between it and the back wall of the bag. It almost never sits right on this piece. More strategic velcro probably would fix this. Other than that, it far outperforms cases in this price range and definitely outlasts them- many cases I've owned did not last a year of gigging and touring. Plus it looks slick but not expensive. Nothing says "steal me" more than a $300 guitar bag.If you are looking to ditch cases but don't want to drop the serious coin on Mono and the like, this is a good step up
