OK. Here's the skinny on the 2i2. The preamp is amazing for this price point. Good luck finding a better one even in the $500 audio interface range. Yeah I mean that seriously. It is velvety smooth and extremely quiet... but, you will need an attenuator for active pickups. Buy a cheap $20 inline attenuator if you don't already have one because otherwise you'll clip the input stage. Even a single coil will clip fairly easy. Not sure why they didn't include a pad but you have been warned. If you're playing humbuckers, forget it! You'll clip with the gain all the way down unless you turn down the volume on your guit. Other than that it's a sweet lil interface. The Scarlett suite too is excellent. Plugins don't usually impress me but these did. The reverb plugin is now my goto reverb. It sounds lush, warm and gorgeous like an analog verb. They're not real surgical plugs but they really don't need to be because they sound so good. Obviously you won't be buying this for flexible routing, but for $149 this is one sweet sounding interface.
