Fender CD60CE Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar (with Case) Reviews

"Best value for under $500.00"
Feature:
Comes with a black hard shell case that's fully padded on the inside with a fender logo on the outside. The shell has a simple finish that's glossy and looks neat. A pick guard is also installed to the body. It has a Fishman mini q pickup for plugin that's well placed not to interfere with cabling when played sitting down or standing up. 2 knob volume and tone control works very well. Wish there was a built in tuner though.

Quality:
I was getting heavy "twangy" string noise on the 13th fret, but fixed with a 'set-up'. Exceptional fit and finish, and I expect this guitar to last a long time. No cosmetic issues when I bought it. This guitar has a solid feel to it, and the glossy finish resists most minor scratches from clothing articles rubbing against it.

Value:
Can't beat the value. Rich sound, solid workmanship, and a hard shell case makes this one of the best guitar deals around. It was a toss-up between this guitar and an Epiphone DR-200ce. Both sounded great, but an included hard-shell case made this a much better overall value.

Desirability:
Simple plain looks doesen't stand out in the crowd. The finish is however very good, and it feels solid, and very easy to play. It looks like a dozen other plain acoustic guitars out there until you play it and find out what it costs.

Sound:
Tonal quality is excellent, and gives a full rich sound when strummed. Unplugged sound quality is exceptional, as expected with medium bodied guitars. Didn't get to test it plugged in until I got home, but wasn't dissapointed at all when I was able to plug it in. I'm mainly using a small Epiphone valve jr combo amp at church, and it sounds great. Falls short of a Martin for natural sound and low end tones, but for a fraction of the cost, this is a much better value. Compared to a similarly priced Epiphone DR-200ce, the sound was less natural(clean), but "bigger" and "richer." It was a toss-up between the 2, but I went with this one for the overall value.

Ease of Use:
Great sound out of the box. Very easy to play and a great guitar to learn on for beginners. The tone knob gives you overall tonal control that does very well, and comparable to 3-way equalizers in guitars for sound shaping.

Support:
Mine had to be 'set-up' to fix minor issues.

Overall:
I got this guitar as an addition to my others. I have an ovation celebrity and a fender stratacoustic. I was looking for a medium bodied guitar to sound good unplugged, since my other 2 needs to be plugged in to be appreciated. I'll use this more at home unplugged to practice on, and also Sundays at Church during praise and worship. I'm planning to keep this guitar for a while since it's a solid piece. I went to the store to look at another guitar model(Takamine G series), but picked this up based on value. I dont think I can get a better deal on a good sounding guitar for under $500 brand new with a hard case.

"Great Piece of Art, to Make Art"
Feature:
Great amp for a great price!

Quality:
It's Fender, and mine hasn't been through much, but it is decently sturdy for a piece of wood.

Value:
Great price for a great sounding product. I tried an equally priced Washburn, Ovation, and Ibanez, and the Fender cd-60ce out performed them all.

Desirability:
Natural finish says 'I am classy, but I know how to party' better than any other of these silly finishes.

Sound:
Only my 17th fret on the 1st string has a twang sound, but it is because it comes in contact with another fret, and I just have to fix the action height.

Ease of Use:
Depends what your action height is, but overall the strings it comes with are easy enough to learn with. :)

Overall:
Amazing.
