Built in collaboration with Eric Clapton, the Tremolux guitar amp gushes with the vintage, all-tube Fender flavor that "Slowhand" himself helped define.

In a historic collaboration, Fender introduces its first artist signature amplifiers-EC Series amps bearing the name of legendary guitarist Eric Clapton.

1950s-era Deluxe and Tremolux amps are prized for the warm, rich compressed tones of blues and early rock 'n' roll. Clapton often uses a Deluxe when playing traditional blues, and Fender has answered his call for a special model with several distinctive features by introducing the EC Tremolux amp. Built to Clapton's own exacting specifications and handmade in the United States, it's a fascinating variation on the '57 Deluxe designed with a '50s-era output tube bias tremolo (which produced a more throbbing pulse than later Fender tremolo circuits) and a switchable power attenuator (reduces speaker output). A pinnacle of personally inspired amp tone for stage and studio alike, it's a must for Clapton fans and guitarists who want the ultimate in tube performance.

- Hand-wired all-tube circuitry on eyelet board with premium components
- Circuit based on late-'50s Fender Deluxe amp model 5E3 (about 12 watts)

I bought this amp to record with and to play some smaller venues. The amp does what I want it to and sounds great! I was wondering what the higher wattage ceramic celestion speaker was going to sound like in a 12 watt amp? It is a great choice! Punchy and throaty when pushed.. Roll your guitars volume back and the the amp / speaker clean up nice. Most of the older late 1950's fender tweed amps sound a bit honkey and thay don't have much headroom. Well this tremolux stays pretty clean up until about 4 1/2 with plenty of volume for a small gig. No reverb but the solid pine cab resonates nice, almost sounds like a bit of reverb.. The tremolo is real tremolo, throbbing and swampy .. very nice! It's a bit pricey, but for a hand wired boo-teek quality amp that sounds great, the price is right! Lots of tweed deluxe clones out there that cost more! This is a tweed deluxe with trem.. Trem-o-de lux get it? The Lacquered tweed, really doesn't seem that Lacquered? Anyway, I will have this amp forever!
