This Twin better sound good for 3k! You can buy a handwired twin used for 1500-2k so you could have stereo for 3k!! Still I now own one and I don't regret it. The tweeks are real and they are no doubt tweeks that Eric thought about or had done on his stage Twins. The Groove tubes are a no brainer and of course you could do that yourself..They really add to the harmonic richness and the big deal for a twin which is the dual power supply!! This is what gives it that awesomely cool sag and punch that makes you caress and spank your strings to get tones you have heard on all your classic rock songs..espeicially the blues guys. The attenuator is kinda lame as it is really not much but I guess it is useful in some settings. It is not a tone killer. The speaker kill switch is not mentioned by the zZ folks and it is kinda cool..! There is a little volume drop but you do go toward that Champ sound if you play the Champ game...which is full amp volume and then back off on the the guitar volume. I am really tempted to put in a Celestion in the lower speaker to see if this is even creamier..? Don't think it would hurt the overal twin performance and would add another cool flexibility.. The vibro is also clipped as well as bias so it is really organic and cool. The notes do not oscillate until you hold them.. I don't understand why EC would not have added a reverb tank as there is plenty of room in there.. I know they want to stay 57 not 65 but hey it's his call..I am sure he would have read more put it in. I am thinking of getting a tank from a later twin and adding it in. For now I use a pedal that give tank room and digital so it is probably going to not go away anyway. All in all this is probably the best Twin I have ever played and I am keeping this thing even though I have gone over to Fractal Axe Fx. The touch sensitivity of a good amp just brings out your best and the warmth of the clean to hair is unrivaled by any boutique amp out there.
