Fender Super Bassman Tube Bass Amplifier Head (300 Watts)

Fill any venue when you plug into this powerful bass amp head. It's loaded with ten tubes, plus the helpful and revolutionary Fender Automatic Bias system.

No arena will be too big for the amount of power your Fender Super Bassman tube bass amplifier head has offer. Stocked with two channels of all-tube pristine tone; two 1/4" inputs; two 1/4" parallel internal/external speaker jacks; an XLR line out with ground lift, level control, and pre/post EQ switch; a long panel with tons of controls and a few push/pull features; and Fender's cool black textured vinyl covering and silver grille cloth, this amp head comes looking sharp and ready to tear up the scene in style and sound. You'll never be short on power or drive with the fuel this baby brings to your game.

Vintage and Overdrive Channels

The Vintage channel on your Super Bassman projects that classic passive tone stack sound heard in Fender's Twin and Deluxe Reverb amps as well as the TB 1200 and 600 heads. A clear and warm sound with a nice color is the resulting character of this all-tube channel. Your distortion channel has an active tone stack that's more modern with a lot of drive and punch.

Long Line of Controls with Push/Pull EQ and Volume Knobs

The Super Bassman head's Vintage channel features volume, bass, mid, and treble controls. For your overdrive channel, you have gain, blend, volume, bass, mid frequency, mid level, treble, and master controls. For both channels, your bass and treble controls have a push/pull switch to activate deep and bright settings. Your master volume control's push/pull switch mutes your signal.

Classic Fender Looks

No Fender amp read more head would be complete in bringing pristine tone without some sleek vintage visuals. Your Super Bassman bass amp head is dressed in classic textured vinyl covering and a silver grille cloth with Fender's name on the left side. The black painted metal panel with all of your controls offers that instantly recognizable sliver/black contrast that pairs well with any number of Fender's cabinets.

Versatile Input and Output Features

On the left side of the front panel, you have two adjacent 1/4" input jacks. The second input takes your signal at a -6 dB level. This baby also has two 1/4" parallel internal/external speaker jacks and an XLR direct out with ground lift, level control, and a pre/post EQ switch.

I bought one of these almost two years ago and sold it to get a new amp, but instantly got seller's remorse. This thing is just too good not to keep around. It's loud, full, punchy, and has a sophisticated self-biasing circuit that is just so helpful. It weighs more than I'd like but we break our backs to get tube tone right? The EQ is very tweakable (even if the mids section is a bit confounding to me). I've used it for both guitar and bass and it really shines for both (although I prefer for guitar strangely enough). It's got more headroom than anyone would really know what to do with so it's really clean on guitar and bass (on the vintage channel). The overdrive channel has a surprising amount of gain on it (I wasn't expecting much because it was a Fender but man, this thing rips if you want it to). The only problem I had with the first one was that it had an issue where the biasing circuit ribbon cable was badly crimped so it was essentially DOA. I took it to a repair shop and fixed it, but it was annoying to have to deal with that out of the box.
