Get your fingers and ears ready for Fender's Alkaline Trio Malibu acoustic guitar -- a visual and sonic treat ready to rock. This baby features an all-mahogany body for warm and biting tones, a soft Stratocaster-style C-shaped maple neck of 20 frets, scalloped bracing, a rosewood bridge with synthetic bone compensated saddle, and that eye-catching Alkaline Trio-designed heart rosette. Attractive white binding contrasts nicely against this axe's stunning dark mahogany top, and a smooth rosewood fingerboard with comfortable action invites your fingers to hit powerful chords that cut through with some awesome sonic vibrancy.

Tribute to Alkaline Trio

Chicago-based punkers Alkaline Trio couldn't be happier to stand behind what this acoustic axe has to offer. Fans will recognize the heart-shaped soundhole with its intriguing rosette from the band's acoustic album cover. This one-of-a-kind design is right at home on a guitar body inspired by the folk-rock '60s with a cool California feel. Biting tones and sweet looks are what this baby is all about, so you'll enjoy hours of playing your heart out.

Warm Mahogany Body

Your Alkaline Trio Malibu's body features a laminate mahogany top, back, and sides. Mahogany will push the lower and middle frequencies of your playing, so you'll get a solid amount of projection out of this baby despite its slightly smaller size. The body also features an attractive white binding that contrasts tastefully against its dark mahogany top.

Maple Neck and Rosewood Fingerboard

read more If you're a fan of Fender necks, then you'll love this baby's maple C shaped neck. Maple is a great wood for placing emphasis on those higher frequencies, which helps your playing cut through nicely. Its smooth rosewood fingerboard is an absolute pleasure to play, and a comfortable action will keep your fingers from getting too tired too quickly. A Fender Strat headstock gives off that unmistakable Fender look, so people will know you're playing a name that's a stranger to no one.

Fender Alkaline Trio Malibu Guitar

Chicago punks Alkaline Trio jumped in on the design of what must be one of Fender's most distinctive acoustic guitars ever: the Alkaline Trio Malibu. The instrument takes the classic '60s-era sun-and-fun Malibu folk-style acoustic and dresses it up with a graceful heart-shaped rosette designed by the band, as seen gracing the cover of 2011 acoustic album Damnesia.

Premium features include a richly resonant all-mahogany body with the aforementioned AT-designed heart-shaped rosette, scalloped X bracing, C-shaped maple Stratocaster neck with a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard, body and neck binding, rosewood bridge with synthetic bone compensated saddle, chrome hardware and gloss neck and body finish.

I like it.
Sound
I like it mellow sound without to much treble.
Features
full 25.5 inch scale (same as a Strat) but with a small easy to handle folk size Mahogany body. The strings are just plain bad. However I really like how it looks and it is well built. Great finish on mine.
Ease of Use
Very playable. No great sounds out of this guitar, but I really like the sound anyway and with new quality strings l believe it will sound much better. It really is fun to play.
Quality
Better than good quality!
Value
It was to me.
