I had a deering goodtime 2 banjo before I purchased this banjo. I was very happy with the deering, but it didn't have a tone ring. I was reading the banjo forums and people were saying the the fender banjos weren't made that good because they are made in china. I own an American made stratocaster and the quality is great, so I took a chance on purchasing this banjo although it is made in china. The fender name is on it and I didn't think fender would put there name on a shabby banjo. Happily I was right. This banjo totally blew me away. Quality is out of this world and the sound is awesome. I couldn't be more satisfied. I would of payed twice as much for this banjo. Well done fender.
