What's special about this item?

Feature: What it does:
Alder body Light weight with a wide tonal range
Slim C-shaped neck Slim back profile; super-fast, easy-to-play feel
Enforcer humbucking pickups Hot output; fat tone with great clarity and detail
Coil selector switch for each humbucker More tonal options; greater versatility

The Fender Pawn Shop Mustang Special guitar features that unique offset guitar body with humbuckers and a hard-tail bridge. The body is comfortable to hold and play while the C-shaped short scale neck is reminiscent of vintage style instruments. The dual enforcer humbuckers have plenty of gain plus when you roll off the volume knob it cleans up nicely. The Mustang Special electric guitar has the looks of a pawn shop guitar but the proven Fender components and craftsmanship behind it.

Additional features include a rosewood fretboard with modern 9.5 inch radius and medium jumbo frets, pickup toggle switch, three-way coil selector slide switch for each humbucking pickup enabling 18 different tonal options, mint green pickguard, '70s-style hard-tail Stratocaster bridge, vintage-style tuners and strap buttons, and deluxe gig bag.

The Pawn Shop Series guitars draw inspiration from the eccentric and sometimes wildly innovative Fender creations of the mid-'60s and mid-'70s era that sometimes found their way to the outside world and into the more esoteric pages of Fender history. With this adventurous spirit in mind, Pawn Shop Series instruments emerge as Fender guitars with a boldly creative alchemy of diverse Fender components. And while they are members of the Fender family crafted with thoroughly modern sound and quality, Pawn Shop Series instruments now take the stage with a remarkable identity as "guitars that never were but should have been."

I'm happier with this guitar, and find it much more playable and versatile, than more expensive instruments

Sound
Sound quality is fantastic. I tend to stick with humbuckers and rock the 3-way toggle, but I'll definitely use a single at the bridge when I need a twang. 18 combinations? Check your math Fender... 3 options in the bridge humbucker, 9 in combination, and 3 at the neck... I'm pretty sure that adds up to 15... Maybe the tone knob makes up for the other 3... Either way, there are many good tones available

Features
Product included a gig bag... No warranty, no manual, no Allen wrench, nothing else... Not sure if this is due to zzounds or fender... the box had been opened... I downloaded the warranty info from the website here... I bought the recommended hardshell case along with it... The guitar fits well, but it is not the case shown in the picture... There are no covered compartments as shown, and the first couple uses left black hairs all over the guitar...

Ease of Use
The knob / switch layout makes sense to me... Big part of why I purchased... Intuitive, versatile design

Quality
This guitar showed up with tighter action out of the box than my AmStdStrat and GibLPSpecial... Couldn't find a single flaw anywhere... My les Paul special showed up with a loose 3-way toggle and sloppy paint around some edges... This guitar is pristine read more
