"Horrible distortion at low frequencies."

Sound: This thing distorts with the lows I put through it. Even a low E distorts when played hard, like i do. I run a warwick Corvette standard through it - a kick ass bass, and it distorts like a mutha. Feature: Can't really complain here. Good EQ, an output that you can run through your PA if you dont have mics, a mute button. Value: Ugh-im not happy with it, i think i could have gotten more for my money. Trust me-save up your money and buy either a better amp or a stack. The Wow Factor: bleh - if you play a 5 string, YOU DONT

Sound: Sounds great, even at low volumes. The built-in compressor is handy, and the XLR out options (pre or post EQ, ground lift or not) are great! It really does sound great with all the EQ knobs at zero. I add a little bass and treble to the default. It's really great - I just wish they had the notch and shelf settings that the BXR-100 has. Feature: Love the compressor, the ability to dial-in the Mid frequency and the effect the Enhance button has on the sound. I mostly play by myself in my living room when everyone else in the house has gone to sleep. These features allow me to preserve the tone I'm looking for without waking anybody up. Quality: Solid, quality Fender. Seems very sturdy, no rattles, no buzzing. Value: This amp isn't worth the >$700 list price. I'd say $450 would be a great price for it...$499 seems a bit much. Manufacturer Support: I haven't needed any service from Fender. I never needed to contact them in the 7 years that I had my old BXR-100 amp - nothing bad ever happened. The Wow Factor: Love the metal grille - it's stylin' Overall: This replaced a Fender BXR100 that I had for 7 years and sold to a co-worker a few years ago. I found myself back in the market for a bass amp, saw the Bassman 100 at the store, played it for awhile and took one home.
