This is a gorgeous instrument, and it is the best sounding bass I have ever had the pleasure of playing. That being said, within three weeks of receiving it, the volume pot started crackling and eventually stopped working entirely. These parts are sometimes just bad from the beginning, and this may just be a random bit of bad luck. Because I've never had an issue like this with any other bass, though, new or old, it was a little disappointing. I love this instrument, but I would expect a $2k bass to be perfect (or at least playable) for a lot longer than three weeks. It's in for warranty repair, so we'll see whether this is just a minor inconvenience or something really unfortunate. If you value tone and vibe above all else, I would unquestionably recommend this bass. If you need something absolutely reliable (and don't want to take the neck off to adjust the truss rod) get a Music Man instead.
