i dont know much about guitars, recently like the past year i have been looking at what pedal sounds good with which amp and which guitar for awhile i wanted a good telecaster with humbuckers i own a squier classic vibe tele with a hot rail pickup but it has so many cheap parts they kept falling off, for starters this telecaster rocks its crunchy i own a Gibson sg as well and this telecaster can hold its own i play a lot of emo/pop punk and it works really well the action is super good stays in tune i wouldn't play it for metal just because the pickups aren't for that style of music its mainly for like rock but you could slap emg and give it a go very versatile i dont use coil splitting but on clean it sounds tight, the freaking clean tone is so bright and has a grit to it the pickups are fantastic such a sick guitar!
