The signature picking-style and twangafied tone he brought to the recordings of Elvis Presley, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash and many more showcased the Telecaster's potential and forever altered rockabilly, country, and rock guitar. With the James Burton Standard Telecaster, Fender offers an outstanding guitar built the preferences of Mr. Burton himself.

Features Fit for a Rockabilly King

Like his own collection of vintage Telecasters, the James Burton Standard gushes with classic Telecaster sound, style, and feel. Both pickups are Texas Specials which capture the very essence of old-school Telecaster tone with aplomb. To James' specification, the neck is in a '60s U shape which gives a little more girth than most contemporary Teles. For a playing style like Burton's, this chunkier neck profile works especially well, allowing your thumb to cradle the neck as your fingers glide up and down. Rounded out with vintage style frets and hardware, the Burton Standard Tele is a guitar worthy of player of such resounding influence.

"Looking for a U-Shaped Neck? This is it!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
When I found out this guitar had a U-Shaped Neck my initial urge to go with a 1952 Vintage Tele went by the wayside and I saved a ton of money by purchasing this guitar instead. The bridge is unique to be blunt but the neck in my rather large hands makes it all worth while.
