Single volume knob Tone circuit bypassed; hotter output

The Fender Mark Hoppus Jazz Bass guitar is the perfect punk-pop bass-as powerful and addictive as a blink-182 hit. Distinctive since its 2002 introduction as a Jazz Bass with a split single-coil Precision Bass pickup, it now has a sonic formula. For the updated version of his signature model, Mark has reversed the pickup, with the upper half now on the treble side, delivering supercharged throat and fullness from the D and G strings; and the lower half now on the bass side, adding focused snap and brightness to the E and A strings. A unique modification for nonconformists.

if you want an awesome sound for a lower price than an american then this bass is for you. I owned the original and it's been my primary bass for a while but this has replaced it. I cannot say enough good things about this thing. For me, it's perfect.
Sound
The reverse pickups really make the difference. The tone on this thing is really punchy and can cut through. I am currently using a Gallien Kruger 1x15 with a 600 back line head with a tech 21 sans amp. My setup sounds the closest to a warm tube sound that I can get. Not too much twang with plenty of low end makes all the difference. People complain that there is no tone knob but again, that reverse pickup really changes that.
Quality
For being made in Mexico, it looks as close to an American as you can get. My biggest gripe with the original Hoppus bass was the skunk line on the back. It was annoying and honestly, made it look a little cheap. The paint job is very sexy on this. The transparent white looks almost yellow at some angles and at first I didn't care for the tortoise shell pick guard but it's grown on me and really makes the bass look super classy.
Manufacturer Support
All I own is Fender and that won't change anytime soon. Their new stuff has really impressed me as of late.
