The Fender American Special basses bring you U.S.-built quality and value. The American Special Precision Bass guitar features a slim neck profile, a high-gloss finish and the Fender Greasebucket tone circuit, which rolls off highs while maintaining low-end definition.

Features include an alder body and C-shaped maple neck, rosewood fretboard with medium jumbo frets, split single-coil alnico pickup, knurled chrome knobs, three-ply pickguard (black-white black on Candy Apple Red and Olympic White models; parchment on Black and Three-color Sunburst models), vintage-style bridge and strap buttons, and deluxe gig bag.

Perfect bass for anyone in a serious band wanting a great looking and sounding guitar. And seems to be sturdy enough to last on the road. I hope to test that theory out soon.
Sound
The sound is awesome. Thats all i can say. Just a great sounding guitar. I recently purchased an american highway one P-Bass which was far inferior in my opinion in sound quality. Just a simple guitar with great tones for every range. Smooth body and neck with perfect action and No hum on any of the notes. All in all id say its the best bass ive ever played. And that includes a kubicki factor from the fender custom shop which is almost 3x the price of this beauty.
Ease of Use
So simple a blind man could find a great tone with one hand.
Quality
I dont know about the long term quality but this thing is sturdy and great sounding. I dont see that changing inless the owner neglects the bass.
Value
Amazing tone and quality for the price. Played guitars that cost 3x as much and had far less quality interms of sound and neck playability.
