Perfect for players on the move, this guitar amp head from EVH packs arena-sized volume into three channels.

Loaded with pure EVH sound and power, the new EVH 5150 III 50-Watt Head is a scaled-down version of its acclaimed 100-watt big brother - the mighty 5150 III head - with many of the same great features. Its smaller size and portability make it a perfect amp for players who want arena volume, tone and performance in a compact package. It pairs perfectly with the new EVH 5150 III 2x12 and 1x12 cabinets, in addition to the current EVH 5150 III 4x12 cabinet.

It's a three-channel amp; channels one and two share EQ, with gain, low, mid, high and volume controls; channel three has gain, low, mid, high, volume and master presence and resonance controls. Other features include selectable impedance (4, 8 or 16 ohms), dual parallel speaker output jacks, effects loop, headphone jack, line out and black hardware. Included four-button footswitch has 1/4 inch input jack; also accommodates MIDI footswitching.

the title says it all!
Sound
the sound has an organic quality that you don't find outside of old modded plexi's at full blast, but with way more gain on tap. the green channel is a good tube clean, but there is a volume jump from green to blue. the blue channel is where this thing opens up! very percussive and articulate, with great sustain! the red channel is pure searing liquidy blist, great for a lead or super saturated rhythm channel!
Features
I agree with the previous reveiwer, the midi does save the day with the volume jump, I use a digitech gsp1101 and it take care of it. on the same note using the gsp, the effects loop is very transparent. the included footswitch is also cool.
Ease of Use
this thing was effortless to setup, and it sounded good at every setting. even the midi setup was easy, took 2 minutes to set all my patches!
Quality
seems to be built like a tank, but time will tell how it will hold up to the old 5150's road standards!
Value
best amp on the market for the value!
