I own quite a few real ESP Custom Shop guitars; I was hesitant about buying this based on the E-II logo and concern over it being more along the lines of typical LTD models. Based on the price, I assumed the quality was better than typical. I use EMGs in all of my guitars for consistency and I need a Floyd Rose; so this was really in line with what I wanted. I took the chance and it's a MONSTER shred machine. Right out of the box, it was set up exceptionally well and even in tune. The finish is exceptional. The neck thru construction is great. I would have preferred if it had an EMG 81/85 mix - but not a huge deal overall. The only thing to consider is that with the EMG 81s, it's pretty much high gain, high output at all times -- making anything less than hard rock / metal a little more difficult since it doesn't clean up that well; at least compared to an EMG 85 in the bridge. I also play in a 70s classic rock band where we play the tunes a bit heavier than the originals and this guitar is a bit hard to use for that since it's full on scream and little else.
