"A guitarist's Swiss army knife"

Feature:
Wish it had 2 tone knobs (one for each pickup). That way I could set them once and then just use the toggle. But this is just me being lazy. Volume knobs are positioned perfectly (under pinkie), someone was paying attention to ergonomics and player interface :-)

Quality:
Workmanship is top notch, no complaints. I don't expect any less from ESP.

Value:
Seriously you can't get any better value nowadays!

Desirability:
Yeah it's desirable. It's a very understated elegant-looking guitar. And the cutaway is just unique enough to clue you in that this isn't a regular LP clone.

Sound:
The EC400AT plays AND sounds better than ALL Epiphone LPs I tried and some Gibsons too. While the pups + the beefy mahogany body can crunch with the best of them, the clean tone (on both pups) is unreal. And there's actual variation between all the settings and pickups so tone is very controllable from the guitar itself (I'm using a VOX AD30VT Valvetronix amp). The clean syrupy tone on the neck pickup (JB?) with the tone knob dialed down is awesome (well for me anyways).

Ease of Use:
Extremely easy to play, great action and setup from the factory. For a guitar this beefy, it's seems very well-balanced. Only problem is upper fret access, the heel is pretty beefy but then most LPs I've tried are the same way. It just takes some getting used to.

Support:
Haven't had the pleasure yet. Hope it stays that way.

Overall:
Owned this for about 6 months. This guitar is amazing. My first electric guitar was an ESP M-50 (5 years ago)---great bang for the buck. That made me into an ESP convert. This is a beautiful (yet understated) elegant looking guitar---I still gaze at it on its stand sometimes. I would have paid a lot more this guitar.

"Killer Axe."

Feature:
It's just there, fun to mess around with. Everything is good on it. The pickups are the greatest, SD JB/59s give a endlesss features of what style of music you play!

Quality:
Well the guy down there complains about his guitar being all staticy. Well this happens to all guitar, and depending on the amp. Ok like i said, the body is thick, mahogany body keeps it nice and meaty.

Value:
Geez, people. I see you rating your VALUE on LOW. But wtf? This guitar is best at it's price range.

Desirability:
Very sexy, black is awesome. I wished though that the JB/59s were black.

Sound:
This is the one, if your looking for a gibby at a low price. (a poor man's gibson) The mahagony wood, and the thickness of the body, ust like a gibson, gives it a great meaty, full-bodiead tone. AWESOME!

Support:
don't need one.

Overall:
AWESOME, pick it uip today,!!!!

About This Product!
Description
Docs
Man, is it a great time to be in the market for a new guitar! When you can get quality and features like the EC400ATS offers - at this sick, low price, you must be livin? right or somethin?. The ATS is a set-neck guitar with real Seymour Duncan humbuckers (a JB and a '59!), plus Grover tuners and the awesome Earvana Compensated Nut for incredible tuning accuracy. ESP builds this guitar with a mahogany body, a 3-piece mahogany neck, a rosewood fingerboard with 22 XL frets and a Tune-o-matic bridge with a stop tailpiece. It's a classic design with all the updates already done for 'ya!

Earvana Compensated Nut
ESP is proud to feature Earvana's innovative nut, which compensates each guitar string's length for more exact intonation across the neck. Your guitar will now be in tune wherever you finger a chord-- and you will have achieved 'earvana'.

Grover Tuners
High-quality Grover tuning machines are well known for their precise gear ratio, tuning stability and durability. They make a great complement to the other upscale features of ESP's 400-level instruments.

Double Action Truss Rods
All ESP/LTD guitars and basses feature a 'double-action' truss rod design. Unlike a normal (single) truss rod, this one is adjustable in two different directions. This means that you'll never run into a situation where the neck has 'run out of adjustment'. Regardless of which ESP model you choose, you'll get years and years of playing enjoyment.
