Manufacturer's Description for ESP LTD B255 5-String Electric Bass

Now ESP delivers amazing affordability in a neck-thru, flame top bass with EMG active EQ. You can even choose to string thru the body or thru the top for the perfect feel and attack. The specially contoured body is very comfortable and provides a solid foundation for tone. Precision 3-band active EQ gives you the ultimate in onboard control and tone shaping. Rock solid construction includes a 5-piece maple/walnut neck, an agathis body, a rosewood fingerboard with 24 easy playing XJ frets, and Cosmo Black hardware.

String-Thru Bass Bridge
Whether you want to increase overall string tension or just "beef up" your string attack, the string-thru option is a big plus. This bridge can be used in either "string-thru-body" or traditional "string from the top" configurations".

5-piece Maple/Walnut Neck
This neck design provides a very solid feel and an improved transfer of tone from the neck to the body. Increased neck stability and performance will man less frequent truss rod adjustments

Double Action Truss Rods
All ESP/LTD guitars and basses feature a 'double-action' truss rod design. Unlike a normal (single) truss rod, this one is adjustable in two different directions. This means that you'll never run into a situation where the neck has 'run out of adjustment'. Regardless of which ESP model you choose, you'll get years and years of playing enjoyment.

Sound: I have active EMG's in another bass, the sound is very similar. You can get almost any sound with this bass. Feature: There are three eq adjustments for the bass that produces a wide variety of tones. Quality: Its a very nice bass, its looks 100% better in person than on the internet or in a magazine. Value: Great price Manufacturer Support: N/A The Wow Factor: its a good looking bass Overall: I was looking for a good 5 string for under $1000. I looked while on business in Nashville, Memphis, Jacksonville, Northbrook, Michigan and New Orleans. Nothing really impressed me. I have an EPS guitar that I use for laying tracks (it was an inexpensive guitar but really good quality) so I figured what do I have to loose, I can return it if I don't like it. Turned out to be a great buy!

"Great bass!"

Sound: About the best sounding bass I have played. In combination with an Ampeg BXT210M speaker cabinet and an Ampeg SVT 3 Pro Head, the bass really comes to life. Can be fine tune adjusted any style music you play. Great bottom end for country or blues. Feature: The pickup are some of the best I have had the pleasure of using. Quality: The workmanship of this instrument is if the highest quality. Access to the battery compartment could be better Value: The best bang for your buck !
