A new take on a classic design, the Explorer GT from Epiphone has great tone and looks to match. The lightweight body and SlimTaper (tm) neck make this one of the most playable Explorers ever. A black on black color scheme, pearloid parallelogram inlays, and a triangular headstock more akin to traditional Flying V styles, this mighty beast has a distinctive flair all its own. With a comfortable body and comfortable price, the Explorer GT will leave you soloing for hours with an ample dose of high-output crunch.

Innovative Electronics with High Output Pickups

The Explorer GT includes a pair of high output humbuckers ideal for distortion and metal crunch. The 650R in the neck position combined with the 700T at the bridge add a high-end kick to the normal body you get with a pair of humbuckers for squealing overtones and scorching solos. As an innovative new feature, Epiphone has included a kill-switch on the master tone knob which effectively silences all output from the guitar when committed. Kill-switches like this have been used by countless artists over the years, and the Explorer GT makes it easier than ever to incorporate the device into your playing style.

"Just bought a Explorer gt"

Overall: I picked this guitar up used I was so excited when I originally saw it. I cant afford a real explorer its been a wish to own one. When I held the guitar however I had mixed emotions the smaller size and weight are decieving and the salesman even commented on it being a "mini". I am very impressed though with its performance, despite feeling like a childs guitar it produces great sound and sustain. I dont really have the experience to make any real pros or cons but for the price I was very happy to find it.
