The Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Electric Guitar continues to inspire a legacy of great sound. Epiphone's history with legendary guitarist and innovator Les Paul dates back to the early 1940's when Les, working late at night at the Epiphone factory on 14th Street in New York City, created what might have been the world's first solidbody electric guitar, better known as "The Log." Over the years, Les continued to work closely with Epiphone luthiers reviewing product ideas and offering suggestions. "Epiphone always made a good guitar," Les often said.

The Les Paul Standard remains one of the most sought after guitars in the world 50 years since its first issue. Now, Epiphone's Les Paul Standard brings you the classic features and tone of Les' invention with legendary Epiphone quality and value.

Players like Jimmy Page, Slash, Ace Frehley, Mark Knopfler, Zakk Wylde, Alex Lifeson and countless others rely on the unique tone of a Les Paul. And now, you too can experience the Les Paul Standard at a price that won't break the bank!

Like every Epiphone, the Epiphone Les Paul Standard features a Limited Lifetime Warranty backed by world famous 24/7/365 Gibson Customer Service.

Classic Features

The Epiphone Les Paul Standard features a solid mahogany body and maple top that deliver the classic tone and sustain that can only come from a real Les Paul. Like all Epiphone Les Pauls (and unlike less costly designs), the Epiphone Les Paul Standard features a 14 degree headstock read more that gives you more pressure at the nut for more sustain with less tuning hang-ups caused by "string-tree" gadgets. A Pau Ferro fingerboard with trapezoid inlays completes the classic Les Paul Standard look. The hand-set mahogany neck delivers outstanding string-to-body resonance while medium-jumbo frets add to the smooth and sustained tone.

Alnico Humbuckers and the Les Paul Sound

A pair of Alnico Classic humbucker pickups deliver that warm, rich tone known the world over as the Les Paul Sound. When winding their humbuckers, Epiphone utilizes a double vacuum waxing process that ensures you quiet operation free from microphonic hum. The pickup is first placed in a specialized wax vacuuming system before the cover is placed on the unit to ensure that the wax fully penetrates to the very center of the pickup and solidifies all parts. After the cover is placed on, the pickup is given a second vacuum wax bath until the unit is completely saturated. Epiphone uses only the highest quality parts for their pickups including ABS plastic bobbins, 1010 Cold Rolled Steel pole shoes and pole screws, Alnico magnets and the finest magnet wire available.

Legendary Epiphone Hardware

The Epiphone Les Paul Standard features the legendary rock solid hardware including a locking Tune-o-matic StopBar fully adjustable bridge, a classic for over 50 years. And now, the updated patent pending design auto-locks the bridge and tailpiece in place with no tools needed! This also results in improved sustain. The Epiphone Les Paul Standard uses 1-inch diameter potentiometers for better "throw", longer life, and reliable service and all-metal toggle switches use rugged spring-steel contacts to ensure years of reliable service and performance. Epiphone's proprietary output jack features an improved contact shape and heavy-duty spring steel to increase reliability. All Les Paul Standards include Grover machine heads for stability and long life.

I was very impressed with this guitar. I wanted the binding and better finish of a Les Paul Standard but really couldn't afford the two grand. I am very happy with my Pelham Blue Model. I got this, a Gator Case and a strap for just over five bills.
Sound
This is my first Les Paul style guitar. To be honest I wanted this for a beefier sound and to get rid of the hum of single coils. I may change out the pickups eventually, but for now they do a pretty good job
Features
Very basic. Though I didn't want the veneer top, or coil splitting. For me simpiler is always better....
Ease of Use
Plug in, tune, play....
Value
This product is an amazing value. Even with swapping pickups this would be less than the Gibson Faded series.

The Wow Factor
Just a great deal..I love the limited edition color...And for me I love guitars so much. I rather be able to buy a new one every year than save up and have something I would be afraid to play because I spent thousands on it and it might get scratched.....In eight months (Once this is paid for) I will definetly be buying another Epiphone.
