With its classy looks, the Les Paul Custom guitar came to be known as the model that looked good with a tuxedo. Epiphone's Les Paul Custom PRO continues that tradition of elegance with appointments like the signature custom headstock inlay and binding around the guitar's body, headstock, and neck. The guitar is all-mahogany, from its body to its neck, with a maple veneer top. The Les Paul Custom PRO has elegant nickel hardware to match its out-on-the-town vibe, including a unique all-metal 3-way pickup selector switch.

A Dressed-Up Rocker

Sparkle and flash aside, a Les Paul Custom's sound has to set it apart from the pack. The Epiphone Les Paul Custom PRO delivers on this front through its coil-tappable Epiphone ProBucker pickups in the bridge and neck positions. Inspired by Gibson's BurstBucker pickups, ProBuckers are constructed with unevenly wound coils and Alnico 2 magnets, to deliver a sound reminiscent of legendary Gibson Patent-Applied-For humbuckers.

Full of Modern Upgrades

The Les Paul Custom PRO does stray from its predecessors by sporting a slim taper D-profile neck. This is a more slender neck than classic Les Pauls and many prefer it read more for fast fretboard runs and easier chord changes. Epiphone tweaked the classic Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar design with the LockTone mode featured on the Les Paul Custom PRO. Epiphone Les Paul Custom PRO Guitar

The Les Paul Custom made its debut in 1954 after the initial success of the Les Paul Goldtop. Mr. Les Paul himself wanted to convey to audiences that the solid body electric guitar was not a fad but a superb and challenging instrument and that his signature axe, the Les Paul, was the king of all electric solid body guitars. So, Les requested a Les Paul with a custom color finish in solid black and solid white with gold hardware that would blend well with a tuxedo.

The result was the Les Paul Custom, or the "tuxedo" Les Paul, as it became known among fans. The Les Paul Custom quickly became one of the most recognized guitars in the world and Les himself used his Les Paul Custom in concert, on his weekly television show with wife Mary Ford and on his album covers, including his famous duet with pal Chet Atkins, Chester and Lester.

Now with Epiphone's superior ProBucker(TM) humbucker pickups with coil-splitting along with the Custom's classic gold hardware, fully bound body, neck and headstock, and pearloid inlays, we think you'll agree that the Epiphone Les Paul Custom PRO is "dressed to kill."

Features:

- Coil-Splitting via push/pull controls
- ProBucker(TM) pickups
- Graphtech(R) Nubone Nut
- Now with push/pull Phase switch

I ordered the Les Paul Custom Pro from zZounds as a "Blemished" item for $399, & just received it yesterday as promised. Not only did I save a load of money (which I really needed to do budget wise) I got the Guitar of my dreams! The instrument came packed very securely, & just needed to be tuned (the intonation was spot on) When I opened & unwrapped the package I was speechless, & there really is no words that can accurately describe the beauty of the instrument, upon first sight. after I tuned it through my Vox Tonelab SE plugged into two Lake Placid Blue Fender Frontman 25's & engaged the sound, I was absolutely floored. The Burstbuckers produced every good cliche'd description of tone you could ever hope to hear, the sound & tone is just breathtaking. The push/pull coil splitting volume pots, work just as described & I could not hear any noise what so ever in either single coil mode. It also comes with the Tone Pro's Tune-O-Matic bridge set up, & I don't know if it does indeed add sustain, because the guitar already has it in spades. & I will have to let you know about the ease of string changes later, because I haven't changed strings on it yet. The strings that came with it (whatever they are) sound & feel great to me, so I'm not of the mind to change them just yet. That in itself was a very pleasant surprise. The guitar weighs in at just 10 pounds, & that suits me just fine as I like a little heft in an instrument like this. Is this guitar as good as a Gibson read more Les Paul Custom? I think its even better!!!!! Being that you now have to spend premium custom shop prices just to get a real solid non weight relieved Les Paul, or spend less which is still overpriced, for a Les Paul with a Baked Maple fretboard, & basic 490 series PU's & still get a weight relieved body. Epiphone has went all out with this model & others ( I own several). I highly recommend this instrument to anybody looking for a high quality guitar at an affordable price. I know you're wondering, what about the "Blemish"? Hell, I still haven't found it!!!!!!!!!!
