Epiphone Hummingbird Studio Acoustic-Electric Guitar

Whether you play country or classic rock, acoustic guitars don't get much more iconic than the Hummingbird. This Epiphone PRO boasts a Fishman Sonitone pickup system.

The Epiphone Hummingbird Studio Acoustic-Electric guitar brings the legendary country/rock "Hummingbird" into the 21st century with a Fishman Sonitone preamp and pickup system.

First introduced in 1960, the square shouldered Hummingbird quickly became a classic thanks to Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones, who used a Hummingbird for rhythm on early Stones hits like "Satisfaction," "Play With Fire," and "Under My Thumb." There are also many classic photographs of Keith using a Hummingbird on sessions for Exile on Main Street, Goat's Head Soup, and Sticky Fingers. Today, the Hummingbird is still a go-to acoustic for rockers like Noel Gallagher, Sheryl Crow, and Kid Rock when they need a rhythm guitar with smooth action and superb "woody" tone that's full of character.

On its own, the Hummingbird Studio Acoustic-Electric can drive an all-acoustic band or be front and center at a picking party with its sweet, balanced tone. Now with a Fishman Sonitone preamp and pickup system, The Hummingbird Studio can plug-in and hold its own on any size stage.

Solid Spruce Tonewood

The Hummingbird Studio Acoustic-Electric features a solid spruce top. Spruce is a rich and complex tonewood that begins to breathe and improve with age. The body and neck are made from select mahogany. The Hummingbird Studio neck has a classic SlimTaper(TM) D profile and features a 25.5" scale and is attached to the body with a glued-in dovetail joint. The pau ferro fingerboard has pearloid parallelogram read more inlays, 20 medium frets, a 12" radius, and a 1.68" nut. There is single ply white binding on the fingerboard and five-ply white and black binding on the body top while the back of the body has single ply white binding. The Hummingbird Studio has the classic sloped dovewing headstock has the "Epiphone" logo in white.

The Hummingbird Studio Acoustic-Electric's reverse belly bridge has a compensated saddle for smooth action and intonation. The Fishman Sonitone pickup system is under the saddle and the classic Hummingbird/flower tortoise shell style pickguard is easy to spot on stage or across a room.

Though there are many guitars that claim to be "historic" or "vintage" styled, only one comes with a Limited Lifetime Guarantee and Gibson 24/7/365 customer service and the experience of a century of guitar making. Go with the best.

I love this guitar!!! I bought it from Zzounds and was very impressed with how quickly they delivered it to my door. I took advantage of the 4 payment plan they offer. I own several Martins, Taylor and Washburns. I have played the Gibson Hummingbird and it don't sound much better, if any. This guitar was great right out of the box, even in tune. It plays easy, the action is good on it. Sound is friggin unbelievable plugged in and unplugged. I have read some reviews saying it was a little bright sounding, but I didn't find that with my guitar. I have a Taylor, so I know bright. It had a nice warm tone with great volume and sustain. This is my new favorite guitar to play. I love it. I am thinking about trying the Dove also next.
