Shoulder your Epiphone DR-212 12-string acoustic guitar, and get ready for the heavenly sound and distinct feel of 12 strings at your fingertips! This melodious axe packs quite a musical punch with its deep-sounding spruce and mahogany body. Each string lies comfortably close to all 20 frets, spanning over a smooth poplar composite fingerboard that welcomes your fingertips every note of the way. A secure bridge anchors each string down securely while leaving room for adequate sustain. If you've never played a 12-string acoustic guitar before, but feel that itch, then this Epiphone is the axe for you.

Mahogany and Spruce Body

Those chorusy-sounding 12-string chords will harness a deep and warm tone with lingering sustain. That's because mahogany does a great job of pushing the lower frequencies. As a tonewood, mahogany will really bring out the dark character of all twelve strings -- yeilding a big sound that'll fill the room quickly. Spruce will bring in a tight crispness to the scene. The pairing of mahogany and spruce is a popular choice for many acoustic guitars, and once you strum all the DR-212's strings for the first time, you'll understand why.

Sturdy Mahogany Neck

Aside from yielding a darker tone with more low end and middle end resonance, mahogany also provides a nice helping of sustain. A smooth and buttery poplar composite fingerboard provides plenty of space for your fingers to enjoy, and all 20 frets harness a comfortable and tight action -- exactly what read more you need when playing a guitar with so many strings.

Enhanced Stability for a Great Feel and Sound

Your Epiphone DR-212 12-string acoustic guitar utilizes a smart scalloped bracing design. If there is too much stress on an acoustic guitar's body due to string tension, then over time you'll have bowing issues, which will not only affect playability but also intonation. This acoustic guitar will stand up to the tests of time, leaving you with years to explore and see what a fretboard of 12 strings has to offer.

Epiphone DR212 12-String Acoustic Guitar

Engineering a 12-string of this quality at such low a price is no easy feat. The perennial 12-string concerns of string tension and tuning stability all had to be considered, and with the DR-212, Epiphone has delivered on all fronts. Great for folk, rock, and country, the DR-212 projects bright, full 12-string tone to fill any room and complement any voice.

An Affordable 12-string Solution

Doubling the amount of strings of a normal dreadnought presents a series of design challenges for any acoustic builder. The added tension on the neck and body frequently results in untamed action on the fretboard and uncooperative tuning. Not so with the DR-212. Epiphone has outfitted this guitar with chrome die-cast machine tuning heads to enhance the stability of the strings. The solid mahogany back and sides with select spruce top have been specially braced to withstand the pressures of 12-strings, making this a durable and long-lasting guitar. Plus, the expanded projection and sustain achieved with this style of build helps this 12-string produce a bright, bold sound.

Features:

- Spruce top with scalloped bracing to ensure stability
- Classic look with chrome hardware and white binding
- Solid mahogany body with set mahogany neck for excellent tone and sustain
- Epiphone limited lifetime warranty with 24/7/365 customer service

The Epiphone DR-212 clears the common 12-string hurdles of tuning stability and high action, and the result is a bold sounding and affordable guitar. Expand your playing options with a 12-string: the DR-212 is a great choice.

I had a fairly expensive 12-string before, but ended up selling it. I wanted to get another but didn't want to spend as much money, so I thought I'd try this one because I'd read reviews that said it's a great instrument for the price. After having it for more than a month, I wholeheartedly agree. Definitely the best 12-string acoustic at this price point and comparable to more expensive guitars. Mind you, it will give your fretting hand a workout if you're not used to a wider neck and pressing down strings in pairs. But I'm pleased with the sound and the intonation. The build quality is excellent, considering how affordable it is. I might get it professionally set up to see if I can get the action lowered just a bit. But for the most part, it plays very nicely.
