The Electro Voice EVID 3.2 represents a new approach to personal monitors. Its unique design enables the use of only one stand for your mic and monitor. It frees up stage space and puts the monitor closer to you for additional clarity.

The EVID 3.2 is a 2-way full-range cabinet with dual 3.5 inch drivers and a .75 inch tweeter, which handles 150 watts and provides 85Hz - 20kHz freq. response. The EVID 3.2 features a 1/4 inch input connector for easy connection to an amplifier and a built-in volume control. Mounting hardware is included. Dimensions: 9.2 x 5.1 x 6.5 inches, 3.3 lbs.

Sound: he monitor sounds fine as a close field monitor. I was looking for something compact and easy to setup, This filled the bill. Feature: This came with everything you need to set up and go except a boom to hold your mic. That is OK the price is well worth it. Ease of Use: Easy as anything to set up and use. Quality: So far so good. It seems durable and able to withstand the rigors of stage use. Value: I got it on sale, which made it extremely reasonable. Manufacturer Support: No answer here. Did not need to contact support. But I must say shipping was exteremly quick (next day, normal shipping). Very happy with that. The Wow Factor: This is a specific need item. Some people would not want to use this but those who do, it is vey desirable Overall: I would have like to have a small gain amp in it, but that would make it too expensive. It does have a volume control but I think you will use your PA's gain to adjust total volume.

Style of Music: Contemporary folk/country, rock & roll

"OK for the money, but buyer beware..."

Sound: I purchased 2 EVID 3.2 SOS for monitoring acoustic guitar and vocals. For the money, they sound OK... a little boxy on the low mids, but clear enough on the high end. Feature: There are 2 design flaws: 1. The volume knob on the back sticks out like giant pimple on a cow's butt. I expect these will break off or get bent - not road-worthy. 2. The pictures you see with the mic boom stand mounted on top is marketing hype and EV's engineering blunder. They didn't take into account the weight of the boom+mic when designing the pivot joint. It can't be tightened sufficiently. Additionally the pivot is made of cheesy plastic. When I wrote to EV about this, they ignored me which is why I'm writing this review. They'll work fine on top of a dedicated mic stand, but figure another $30 into the price. Quality: Overall sound and construction quality is OK for the money. Mounting hardware is a joke. Value: If I were rating just the sound, it would be higher - especially for the money. Factoring in the lame hardware and it gets a lower score. Manufacturer Support: Wrote to EV about mounting hardware and got no reply. The Wow Factor: The appeal of this monitor is that it can be conveniently mounted on a mic stand and then a boom mounted on top. As mentioned earlier - this can't really be done. Overall: The speakers work fine on dedicated stands. I'll keep them but they are a big disappointment.
