An Organ in a Pedal

Why lug a keyboard around when you don't have to? You can get some very interesting sounds out of this single compact pedal, especially if you're the type of guitarist who likes to use lots of pedals in different combinations. Try firing your B9 Organ Machine through a distortion pedal to get some mean and heated output, or play around with a reverb or delay pedal and get a little psychedelic. The possibilities are virtually limitless with a tool like this at your feet.

Nine Different Organ Settings to Explore

Your Electro-Harmonix B9 Organ Machine pedal gives you electric organ sounds to cover any style you're going for. The "Fat and Full" setting brings in an octave above and below the notes your hit, and the Jazz setting gives you a smooth and alluring tonal contour. You also have Gospel and Classic Rock presets, read more each adding in some soul and grit respectively. The Bottom End setting fattens things up a bit, and the Octaves setting brings in the higher octave to the mix -- think Jimmy Page when you engage this setting.

The B9 also gives you a Cathedral setting which evokes an atmospheric pipe organ -- complete tremolo effect and depth control via the Click knob. The Continental setting gives you a classic transistor organ sound featuring a smooth and silky tremolo, and the Bell Organ setting conjures up a bright and chimey EP over a tonewheel organ mix. Play around with the click control to adjust the "bell" mix level.

Blending your Dry and Organ Outputs

Play around with your B9's dry and organ 1/4" outputs to get some interesting blends. Mixing in your dry signal will keep the guitar sound of your signal intact for a fuller and more natural combination. This added level of control is also helpful for when you're in the studio and have the opportunity to track each signal to separate channels. This opens the door for some interesting stereo imaging capabilities, but if you really want to get crazy, you can bring an extra amp to the stage for live settings and see what this pedal really can do.

True Bypass for Pristine Signal Transfer

The significance of true bypass circuitry often goes overlooked when musicians shop around for the right effects pedal to add to their signal chain. Fear not -- your B9 Organ Machine pedal has got you covered. Your signal will remain unadulterated once you disengage your pedal. This means that your axe's signal and tonal contour going into your Organ Machine and coming out are one and the same and completely unaffected.

Electro-Harmonix B9 Organ Machine Pedal

With nine finely-tuned presets emulating the legendary organs of the '60s and beyond, the Electro-Harmonix B9 Organ Machine delivers definitive tonewheel and combo organ sounds.

The B9's layout is straightforward and intuitive. A nine-position switch allows the player to select among different popular organ types. The Organ volume knob controls the overall volume of the Organ preset while Dry volume controls the volume of the untreated instrument level at the Organ Output jack. This enables a player to mix the sound of their original instrument with the organ to create lush layers, or mute it entirely. A Mod control adjusts the modulation speed. The type of modulation provided is contingent on the preset and matched to it. A Click control was designed to simulate the harmonic percussion effect that is a sonic signature of many classic organs. For maximum authenticity, the click is added to the very first note or chord played and only re-triggers when current notes have been released and their amplitude falls below a threshold.

With the B9 Organ Machine, EHX's goal was to create an affordable, rugged and easy to use pedal that would put undeniable organ sound at a musician's fingertips. The B9 Organ Machine comes standard with an EHX 9.6-Volt/DC200mA AC adapter.

Features:

- Transform the tone of a guitar or keyboard into that of a convincing full body, electric organ
- 9 presets that were finely tuned to emulate some of the most popular and classic electric organ tones
- Control over percussive attack level, modulation speed, organ and dry volume
- Rugged and easy to use
- EHX 9.6DC-200 PSU included

Great organ sounds and so simple to use. Only thing I would like to add that it would be nice to be able to change tones remotely but still well worth the money.
